    it's embarrassing how badly they've kicked our a****.

    smaht. avoid FA and keep the short-term costs down. they'll pay for it on the back end, but they're going to get one ring out of the good will, maybe two.

    still so mad we didn't have the assets when he became available.

    yeah, they're betting on AD or lebron missing huge chunks of next year and a western conference with only 2 tank teams left (por/utah).

    i get it. but also arming us with a pick to trade on draft night could be a difference maker, too. i'd probably do what they're doing, but it's not a no-brainer.

    I was huge on trying to get Jrue here if we could (timing didn’t work out as they wanted to move him before our guys were available). I was told he wasn’t worth it because of his age and wanting a future contract by pretty much everyone here. I think I only remember one other poster in favor of getting Jrue if we could.

    i'd have to dig for receipts, but my recollection is that i said it didn't matter because we couldn't get him, but that if it were just dlo/rui i would do it. but it was indeed moot because we didn't even have those guys to move when the time came.

    lol, if i knew boston was going to steal him, i'd have piled all the picks on top of them!

    edit: and boston will end up paying for this on the back end (no way jrue holds up much longer, imo). but this is a nice change for them, post-ainge. danny ainge would never have offered that extension, imo, and it's why no one has wanted to play in boston.
