yeah, outside of the stars, if you asked me which injuries would hurt most, i would have said:

    dlo
    vando
    reaves
    vincent

and we lost two of them for basically the entire season.

now, can we expect lebron and AD to play 70 games+ next year again? maybe not. so we wasted an opportunity there. some bad luck, though (along with some pretty poor coaching/player management).

Without Vando we have no chance in post season play. Our defense sucks without him.

hope the FO doesn't use the injuries as an excuse to keep Ham.

For what it's worth, hearing the Lakers have a very, very high level of confidence they will land Kawhi Leonard when NBA free agency begins Sunday.

that there is no agreement in place between the Milwaukee Bucks and any potential job candidate. Says an earlier report on a deal with Doc Rivers is "not true."

There's no news that Gabe and Vando are done for season.
They were actually listed as game time decision even before yesterday's game

I'd still take Kyrie in a trade this summer. Maybe some other high end player, has already let Lebron know, that they want to play for the Lakers.

Or maybe Murray and Myles Turner, would really be the best scenario of all. Derozan and Turner isn't terrible either, might not cost as many picks.

Anyone will trade if they get the best of the deal. Both teams have been well managed since those dates, so it doesn't surprise me that they either don't want to assist a division/conference rival or lose a trade.

That's ok, there's 30 teams to choose from.

the spurs and mavs are understable because pop and cuban are notorious lakers haters, but even houston they've only traded with 5 times and two of those were in 2017

then again, i was also surprised to see that last year's westbrick trade was the first trade the lakers and wolves had ever made

This feels weird typing in response to one of your posts, but I agree...if we're not considering roster construction and just go get me two guys. We have to turn at least a couple of our one way specialists into two way players so they can stay on the court no matter. I think that is much more important of a mission this summer than hunting a 3rd superstar.

I don't see a path to Turner though right now and getting him means Bron at SF and he can't do that anymore. I think there's a better chance of trying for Turner again after Bron retires, which also likely lines up with Indy ready to shuffle deck chairs. I thought they would be better with Siakam than they are, they're 14 and 14, but maybe that's going to take a training camp to figure out. I think they give that group a couple years to swing and see what happens.

I don't know, I think it would have to be universal highway robbery for Pop to approve it. I think he'd rather gnaw off a limb than there being a 5% chance trading their player to us would make us any better.

I want to keep pressing the Bulls on Caruso in the offseason. I genuinely believe that with just one role player that could guard multiple positions well and knock down some open shoots this team would be drastically better. It might even be helpful if Gabe did play a few of these last regular season games, if only to showcase that he's not completely damaged goods for other teams.

sure. if you can just pluck guys up for nothing, let's do it. but that's ignoring several aspects of reality, not the least of which is that pritchard hates us more than popovich does.

if our roster as constructed with health can't do it, then we can't do it, imo. as you said, lebron is now a pf on defense. this means AD has to be a center. this is limiting. when we won the ring, lebron could still play 20+mpg as a legit sf. he's almost a 4/5 like draymond now. and we honestly built a sensible team around that, imo. ham sucked, but also, lebron and AD now aren't lebron and AD 4 years ago. and that may just be that.

agree. caruso changes a ton for us. so hard to get guys like that. i mean, sure, you had the actual guy, his bird rights, and his willingness to take a slight paycut to stay...

    and now i'm furious again.

anyway, also agree that gabe showing he's not dead could help summer trades. he's the guy i want gone. mostly not his fault, tbh. i just think his salary plus a pick could get us a backup bruiser center, and i'd like to try like hell to retain dinwiddie, as he's a better fit for our team than gabe.

Says the conflicting reports on timeline boils down to player camp vs those within the organization.
