Games with only three point chucking are a
    Snooze fest.

today's NBA is a snoozefest for the most part for that very reason. nothing but 3 after 3 with some soft foul calls mixed in

they won't move the three point line out and make the court bigger, so this is what we get.

If they allowed any form of defense, especially on the perimeter, the chucking would be reduced.

somewhat, but the math would still be there. and they can't go back to derek harper days--that was b*******.

i still think if they actually tightened up on the post (instead of loosening up on the perimeter), it could have a similar effect.

what if you couldn't put your hands on AD when he catches with his back to you? he's super quick and taller than most guys. buckets galore. same with sabonis, etc. all of a sudden, defending the post matters again, as a 70% conversion rate on iso post ups beats wide open corner threes. this opens lanes for cutters, etc., in the same way that the spacing of the 4-out/5-out schemes. i mean, the nba had high scoring games back when nobody took threes.

i think shaq looms large here, too. he made it so tough on officials to determine how to call fouls that they just started allowing bear wrasslin' in the post, so the post died.

    Wemby 33/15/7/7.

The fact he's doing this and it's not shocking speaks volumes. There's a quad double coming soon.

shaq being unguardable was certainly a factor in the NBA doing away with the ban on zone D in 02

i think that, and the replacement of the old illegal D rule with the current one are the roots of the 3 pt dominant NBA we have today

Unless we’re throwing in the towel, feel like we have to cut Wood and try to sign another playoff eligible center. I’m guessing that’s not ideal from a salary perspective because maybe that means eating the money on his player option, but we need more size

i think the towel is largely thrown. and also i don't know that any needle-moving center is out there.

I thought any player out there needed to already be signed in order to be on a playoff roster. Maybe that's only for bought out players though. For a true free agent, maybe it doesn't matter.
