I’m much more interested in lining things up for Tatum, Luka, or Antman than adding a very flawed player in Trae.
It’s a huge gamble to think that LeBron will be super healthy again next season AND hoping that LeBron and Trae will work. Yeah, he’s much Younger than Westbrick, but for me, it is similar in that the playing styles just don’t fit.
Just draft Bronny to make LeGM happy so Jeanie can continue to milk the cash cow.
If I were Rob, I would ask LeBron if he could help us out by picking his new landing spot so we could get something back for him. I think this season is our last chance at a Chip with the AD/LeBron pairing. Letting him walk for nothing, whenever it happens, is just a really dumb way to handle this situation.

It’s funny looking back that the Warriors offered Klay for Howard but we held out for Harrison Barnes:Laugh: Mitch Kupcrap in action

Congrats to Lil Mac for his back to back win in the Dunk Contest.
Three point shootout was decent with Dame time taking it.
As for the “Skills Challenge,” it’s time to get rid of this all together. I had to fast forward most of it. It’s usually somewhat watchable, but not this year.
Just expand the dunk contest with more dunkers.

In the end, Sheph randomly shows up and shows them all how it's done.

Anyone else think Mac’s dunks were sensational? Who was the fool/hater (Nique?!!) that gave him 46 on the first one where he jumped over the guy, grabbed the ball and let go of it first? Announcers went nuts. His vertical is insane at his height …. guy on another guy’s shoulder no problem. Clear Shaq no problem.

I’m not on board for giving up 3 picks for Trae for the same reason as everyone else. Trae is the type of player who is very difficult to build a championship team around because of his defensive weaknesses, turnovers, and he’s a volume shooter to be effective.

I would rather try to do the DeJaunte deal in the summer for less picks while also having the cap space and bird rights to also re-sign DLo. Maybe the trade ends up being Rui, Gabe, JHS, protected FRP, 1 pick swap.

There’s a path forward where we can have both DeJaunte and DLo for the same amount of salary as Trae and this way it ends up being better roster construction for now and post Lebron.

In the post LeBron era we would then have options down the road to package a combination of 2 out of the 3 of Murray/Dlo/Reaves and 2 frp, pick swaps, etc for all NBA players who can legit but us in championship contention. Luka, SGA, Antman, Booker, etc.

I would not want to build a team around Trae. But, at the same time, I feel some of you guys are really disrespecting his game. I mean, he is pretty good.

I have to admit I’m losing interest in trading anyone from this team unless we flame out badly at the end of the season or post season - either not making the playin or getting beaten there or in the first round of playoffs. If we make it to the WCF or even semi Finals I’m pretty reluctant to make major moves. I just don’t see how Trae is better than Dlo And Rui combined. I get moving some picks but I’m not all in on losing these guys and the picks for one player who only plays offense. That’s not a knock on Trae, he’s an exciting and fun player. But I really like how Dlo and Rui are elevating our current team. They would have to really disappoint later on for me to consider it.

Now Donovan Mitchell I feel differently about. I think he’s a superstar and I would go all in for him. He’s a game changer. That said I don’t think he’ll be available for all the reasons already stated here. Beyond those two I don’t know who else will shake free but I’m not into Kyrie Irving. That’s a no.

I’m mostly into just changing the coach and moving Vincent for a backup big. Keep Spencer!!

If D'Angelo chokes again in the playoffs, he has to go. We aren't looking to have fun, and make a showing in the playoffs. He can do that somewhere else, where it's acceptable.

The ball is in his court tho, he might buck his playoffs career history. Then again, he might just be who he is...we'll find out this campaign.

See how this season goes but right now, not sure I want to trade Rui. Also, I don't think Booker brings us a ring any better than Trae would. Luka, SGA sure!!!

IDK...Luka, SGA, Tatum etc..can't be had with anything we have, without including AD. If that's the case, what's the point? Davis will be making 60M plus moving forward after next season. If we plan on grabbing another star player, we better do it quickly.

yeah, i outlined my reasons for considering young (who's also not my favorite) in another post that i won't repeat. given what we've already traded going forward and the dearth of enticing assets, i'm not sure we can trade for a star better than young in the next few years.

also, don't rule out the possibility that if a luka/tatum type demands out that a deal centered around young could be more interesting to their teams than the standard contract bloat plus a zillion picks offers.

Even if they demand a trade, neither Cuban or C Bags are sending their stars our way :(

He's one hell of a dunker, well deserved win and it's always fun seeing someone from our pipeline show out at an all star event.

That said, I miss when this mattered to headline players. Seeing them on the front row watching instead of playing is a failure on the league’s part (this isn't a new problem, was around during Stern too). Part of me enjoys seeing Brown getting s*** for his dunks because he is a C bag and a couple were awful (the Dee Brown one where he covered his face AFTER landing or dunking over a 5 foot nothing guy who's sitting in a chair) but part of me is against the backlash because he was the only household name to put himself out there and compete. Until more do so, that kind of abuse might prevent other names from putting their hat in the ring.

Next year, I want Ja and Ant to headline the thing. With the interactive courts they can rake in even more sponsorship money by flashing ads all over the court to make the purse something that gets the attention of the top players.

Man, Doc is the KING of excuses, I’m actually glad we didn’t fire Ham before he was hired so we didn’t end up stuck with him.
