He wasn't arrested or charged with any criminal violation of the law, but the situation was more serious that just being a harmless idiot. Here's a portion of the Tennessee code:

    39-13-102. Aggravated assault.

    (a) A person commits aggravated assault who:

    (1) Intentionally or knowingly commits an assault as defined in § 39-13-101 and:

    (A) Causes serious bodily injury to another; or

    (B) Uses or displays a deadly weapon

yeah. did not like that man for many reasons.

he's clearly got substance use issues, which is a mental health problem. he needed to be in actual rehab, imo.

    this is the way.

might rather move 17 than christie for brogdon. i'd also just rather keep russell and use assets otherwise.

the caruso trade idea is laughable. and we simply can't spend three 1sts to get a guy we let walk for less than the mle. the optics are unsurvivable for rob and company there. not even sure how drummond enters the discussion, as beasley already makes too much to swap straight up for caruso. and drummond sucks. this sounds like bulls fan fiction.

But he didn't commit an assault lol, you have to commit the assault while doing A or B for it to be an aggravated assault. If we're talking about the same incident (the one that got him suspended this second time), he just had the gun out in his car.

yeah, i don't think mj ever cared about the hornets/bobcats; he just knew the payout was going to be there.

Paul can't replace Dlo. His body will break down in a starting role.

He'd be best as a backup

the leaks today seem to indicate that's the idea. i wonder if they might try to please everyone by signing dlo to 2/50, asking him to be a 30mpg sixth man, and offering cp the starting job if he'll take a 2 year vet min.

i know people hate it, but i think this can work. if you have paul now, you need another pg who can play substantial minutes and whom you can play in the playoffs. we might have the easiest structure for that.

this especially makes sense if schroder is really going to get some large offers. i was figuring we'd keep DS for 5 per with a player option because he'd be choosing among tpmles.

i just find it really odd that he went from tpmle to vet min to now mle+ while basically being the same exact guy.

20 would be great! i mean, he's largely done. but at the vet min...jeez...that's big value, imo. he's going to be hungry for a ring and playing with his boy.

Laugh if you want but it’s not a laughing matter. I never said he committed an assault. I posted the full text for your sake, rather than cherry pick the display line.

My point was that Tennessee considers displaying a firearm a factor in an assault whether it is fired or not. In this case he was joyriding. But in an earlier case he did assault a teen on a public court when he felt disrespected. He’s this close to a felony issue.

IMO, a longer suspension was warranted in light of him completely disregarding the previous 8 game ding.

He wasn't a good president but he was a smart one
I feel that a CP/Dlo pairing on the PG spot poses problems defensively. We always resort to Schroder for defense purposes.

I don't think CP3 is gonna be available though

We also have the option to let Dlo walk (or act like that until he see the market for him and signs with us for less) and pick up Beasley and Bamba options to use as trade bait at the same rate as Dlo, keeping CP3 and Schroder

You're reading it wrong. Flashing a gun is penalized in an assault situation, because you're threatening the other person.
Morant was doing a live on social media in a car, he didn't qualify for what you posted

Lebron should not have a say at this point considering what happened with the Russell Westbrook fiasco. Also, D'Lo had a bad series against the Nuggets after having some really good games, crucial games in the Memphis and Golden State. You know who also had great games during the playoffs and sucked against the Nuggets? Jimmy Butler.

Silver lining here is you can likely get Dlo for much less money than before the Denver series. Let's see what happens.

i think it's caruso-related for me. he's cost-controlled and has a lot of bankable skills. he can't be a throw-in. it's possible he could be reaves-ish in value come this time next year, tbh.

    bingo. all this.

lebron's input means very little to me.

russell showed improvement in the playoffs, imo. the denver brick wall had occurred earlier for him in other trips. maybe he gets all the way over it, and he's pretty close to jamal murray. this is why i'm fine with a longer deal for him at lower money (4/80ish). it's a gamble, but not a big one.

No, I am actually capable of reading and comprehending legal documents. My training required it. I don't want to repeat what I responded to sk, but you quoted it so I assume you read my response. I just said something other than what you think I said. Maybe reread it.

No need for being passive-agressive. Be humble a bit and show your point without that.in this case you're indeed wrong.
    You posted this:

    So it start with this:
"(a) A person commits aggravated assault who:

    (1) Intentionally or knowingly commits an assault as defined in § 39-13-101 and"

Note the "AND" in the end, meaning the first condition needs to be met.
    First condition is:
"Intentionally or knowingly commits an assault as defined in § 39-13-101"

So I went and look for § 39-13-101, here's the result:

    Universal Citation: TN Code § 39-13-101 (2021)
    A person commits assault who:

    Intentionally, knowingly or recklessly causes bodily injury to another;

Intentionally or knowingly causes another to reasonably fear imminent bodily injury; or

Intentionally or knowingly causes physical contact with another and a reasonable person would regard the contact as extremely offensive or provocative.

Morant did none of that, hence the 2nd condition is irrelevant.
    He broke no law.
He did show irresponsible behavior, probably broke the Code of Conduct of the league, was recurrent and insensitive to what the country is going through, so a punishment is deserved.
But he broke no law and hurt nobody.

    Latest from Fischer

Including another report we might move down

That's 3 reports of such in as many days

    other tidbits:
    - Collins and Bogdon linked to Phoenix
    - Indy and Houston could be suitors for Kuz
    - Bufkin and Coulibaly shooting up the draft board
    - Hawks listening to offers for everyone not named Young. Okongwu is receiving the most interest. Siakam is on the Hawks board.
    - Raptors, New Orleans, Houston and Washington trying to get into top 3 of the draft
    - sounds like Anunoby wants a bigger role or a trade
    - FVV $30M and Trent @ $20m
