I'm fine with us standing pat...dennis schroder wasn't gonna get traded her for Vincent and 2nd's because Vincent doesn't have an expiring deal, which is what Toronto prioritized in their deal. Only way to get Dennis woulda been attaching a 1st round pick to Gabe, which woulda been horrible asset management from us.

Still hoping we pull off Tyus Jones for Gabe and 2nd's....but I think we're likely doing nothing today

 

I was one of the ones with the view that the Suns had a great off-season with their minimum signings… but seems like they dumped pretty much all of them AND more seconds just to get Royce O’neal and Chunky Dillon Brooks?

Not sure what the hype there is.

Seen a lot of Laker fans on Twitter/Reddit melting down because they saw Royce go for multiple seconds and thought we should have done something similar. But man Royce has become one of the most overrated trade targets I’ve ever seen. I’m not sure I’d trade 3 seconds alone for Royce, and then you’d also have to add ~$9.5 million in matching salary? (And unlikely the Nets would want Gabe’s contract). Yeah, no thanks.

Think a lot of fans will be mad that we didn’t “make a move around the margins”…. but I really get the sense there wasn’t even a minor move available that would be worth it

I don’t remember a quicker crash down to reality than Cam Payne. He got a decent sized bag then just turned into a G Leaguer overnight.

 

the prospect of gabe returning and playing is probably better than moving a 1st with him for a similar caliber player. based on how things went, that's what it would have taken.

amazing that expirings ruled the market this year; that hasn't been the case in the past, and it's something to keep an eye on going forward.

nobody; it's just a story to tell when you don't do anything. i mean, it's true we'll have a lot more to work with then, but the star angle is thin...

except for him, which i could totally see. he asks out, names us, we're the only team that makes a real offer. it's our only path to a "star" for now.
