i just worry that if rui continues to be the same guy he's been, we're overpaying and will be stuck with him until his last year. i was expecting some growth out of him this year, and he looks basically exactly the same as he did last year (and, frankly, the years before). vando and prince are both more valuable when available, imo. i disagree that he can effectively guard bigs, too.

anyway, brown's metrics are down this year, so it's a question of (like murray) whether you believe it's a product of the situation. like murray, i think it's hard to believe he went from being one of the better defenders at his position in the league to a minus defender overnight, without an injury.

interesting that nobody wants to give up 1sts for anyone all of a sudden. i'm generally a f-dem-picks guy, particularly if they have top-5 protection. non-top-five picks bore me.

Don't trade Rui man...I like guys that actually play better in the playoffs. I get the business end of it, his contract could be a valuable piece in a trade, plus he's young and is capable of getting buckets.

It depends on who it turned out to be, but I'd be disappointed if it's Brown. I will probably be hating on him immediately, if he doesn't fit in right away too.

Yeah I'm not sure about Young. He's an awesome offensive player, but I don't know about the fit with LeBron. Since he came into the league the perception of him was that he's Curry-lite, but he's way more ball dominant. He's at 38.4% from three this year on 8.9 attempts which is really good, but for his career he's 35.6% on 7.3 attempts. His P&R game with AD would be awesome, but you can't really have any other defensive holes in your lineup.

lol, i was just saying it yesterday. klutch, y'all.

look here for your most likely acquisitions.

    donovan mitchell is caa (knicks).

even if he wasn't caa, teams would outbid us for him. young is probably the best guy we could get with our assets.

does it excite me? no. but is a young/AD roster workable, post-lebron? possibly.

i'm good doing nothing. if we can turn gabe into a living player, that would be great. if not, talent hasn't been our problem.

jevon carter's having a terrible year. would the bulls give us drummond and carter and maybe a couple 2nds for vincent?

carter was once (as recently as last year) considered a strong defender at the pg.

I'd love to get Mitchell but its hard to see us not getting outbid for him if he goes on the market.

    From our allowed shopping list:
Brogdon, KCP, Fox, Grant, Dray (BAE or vet min only), Lively, Maxey, Moody (as a buy low), Murray, and Trent. / end of list

Yeah. As I just posted, agree on Mitchell.

I like Trae more than most in here despite his limitations. I think he can handle being a Laker and won't wilt under the bright lights and I do think you can build around him and AD.

He'd have to take it a step further and say he wants to be with us specifically and won't sign long-term with anyone else. He's under contract for 2024-2025 and has a PO for 2025-2026, so he would have some leverage. He's made no secret of wanting to play in NY, though, so its hard to see a scenario where he says its us and only us (which is what it would take).

No parts! If people hate AR and DLo’s defense, wait till they get a load of Trae.

Yeah. I think he ends up with the Knicks absent some last minute change.

If they could get him for something like Fournier/Grimes/DiVincenzo/picks...man a Brunson/Mitchell/OG/Randle/Robinson lineup has some question marks on fit but that's a ton of talent.

Ahahahah that was hilarious. It's really crazy the rep our guys get from the media
Lol. White, Brogdon and now Tillman. Boston just keeps adding very relevant talent for nothing. Are they paying on the side? They need to be investigated, for real
