Very curious as to how high we're willing to bid on a Brown deal.

Please trade Rui instead of Dlo for a good guard.
My enthusiasm is tampered since Vando is out but you still have Cam/Max/Prince who can play SF - need another good guard. you trade Dlo you actually make the problem worse

Vincent is due back in early March. Maybe he can finally give us something?

I still think we need a better back up big. Drummond/Richards etc..

I’m fine if we stand pat on that Murray trade.

Not even sure he would be an upgrade over DLO in the context of this team. We need a point of attack defender yes, but I’m not sure Murray is that guy anymore, and we’d be giving up 3pt shooting and a bit of playmaking for it. Add in the 29 pick and that sounds like overpaying to me.

I'm more open to Bruce Brown if the price is right. But I'm surprised we haven’t heard more about trying to acquire a defensive minded rebounding center. Maybe we’re betting on one coming from the buyout market, but that doesn’t fill me with hope.

i don't get the bruce brown hype. he's really not that good, and it would be insane to give up a 1st rounder to get him

Right. It's all about the package for Brown. I have thought he would be a good pickup a few times but I wouldn't give up a ton for him.

Still might be an awkward fit.

Murray doesn’t work very well off ball (see him and Trae), so he’d need to be the playmaker, but DLO is a better playmaker.

Good to hear. The notion that we needed to add more to these deals for supporting players was always silly.

Big disagree on trading Rui for Murray/a guard. Playoff games are about getting as much shooting/skill on the court as possible while maintaining as much size as possible. We don't need another guard in addition to DLo, Reaves and Christie. We need an upgrade on one of those spots. I'm not giving away the one front court guy we have (aside from LeBron and AD of course) with size, shooting and the ability to create his own shot to add a 4th guard to that mix.

    Latest from Stein....

    On Murray

What can Brown do for you?
Jazz are going to do something
Warriors will shop Wiggins until the bitter end tomorrow
Drummond's market, 6ers need size and shooting
    Pistons-- who's staying who's going

I'm on the fence with Brown. I thought he was key for Denver in winning the championship last year and I believe they are going to miss him in the playoffs. I like him but we are still really heavy in the wing rotation, especially if Vando can come back. We've got Rui, Prince, Vando, Cam and Max. Who are we trading to get Brown? Rui? I don't do that trade as I like Rui a lot and Brown can't guard bigs like Rui can. He's also not nearly the natural scorer that Rui is. He's a really good bench player with solid D and some scoring ability but to me he's a step down from Rui. Maybe for Gabe Vincent? I guess I'd do that although we desperately need a backup PG who can play and I would hold out Vincent to trade for Tyus Jones if possible. Not sure I see giving up what it takes to get Brown, though on paper I do like him.

Me at the trade deadline: I've never heard of that guy that just got traded!

Also me: How come we didn't get him?

On Brown's role: he has played some point everywhere he's been. He's not a floor general by any stretch, but maybe if they see him as a secondary ball handler in DLO lineups or third in AR and Bron lineups, maybe it's serviceable enough.

Also on picks and this summer:

Brown's $22 million is just a tough number to match with the salaries we have to (realistically) trade right now.

I wouldn’t do it. Rui has better size and more upside to me. Brown is a good player and all rounder but I see him as a slight downgrade from Rui.
