As long as Jeanie owns the team, Bridges will never be a Laker.

That’s true but he’s pretty good and she should be the one to change him with her LA rehab connections. It would be a great redemption arc.

Unfortunate about Brogdon. Wipes the best plan B for PG help off the board.

I don't get the Bogdanovic thing..the Pistons are terrible, and will continue to be so for awhile. We always assume that players want to be on good teams, and compete for Championships. Maybe Bogdanovic doesn't care about that, he might be content with just getting paid, and playing heavy minutes.

This is totally random, but Jovan Buha means "John Flea" in Serbian. :)

i'd be willing to do a protected 1st swap for tyus jones with gabe as the primary outgoing salary.

i'd actually consider jhs/gabe for tyus, no picks outgoing.

this sounds like royce oneale, who should be relatively cheap. but if we moved gabe for him, we need another pg still. and just about anyone else would be downgrading.

anyway, sounds like lebron has figured out that allstars aren't moving right now and has settled down, which is good.

sucks brogdon's off the table; i thought that was a nice fallback.

How little Gil knows considering his platform is troubling.

I get what he's trying to say but he's wrong. Regardless of contract status, which matters you can't sign Bron or Bosh because they're not FAs, here's the caliber of players in that price range he's referencing

There's a big talent drop from Bron and Bosh to most of those guys.

Looking at the FA list, best they could've done in Gil's world was Marc but he wouldn't have signed after we just traded Pau. Maybe you get a scoring 6th man with Crawford and a defender in Prince, that would've been a squad regardless.

I also don't think it was vetoed over potential FA signings.

I’d be okay if we stood pat, especially now there’s some chance Vando’s injury is less serious than expected. Gabe for Tyus Jones would be great.

I get the asset management aspect of trading DLo, but I’m not sure he doesn’t just pick up his player option for next year. He’s played really well over the last couple of months, but overall his numbers are pretty similar to what they were last year with us and with Minnesota. He doesn’t seem to be well regarded around the league, I won’t repeat my rant about the over obsession with bargain contracts and guys “getting played off the floor”. I don’t think anyone offers him more APY than his $18 million PO, or anything long term for more than like $12 million per. I don’t think the perception of him has changed since last offseason when he didn’t really have other suitors.

moreover, if the perception DOES change, it means we had a great finish to the season and could use his bird rights to lock him up longer term.

i've never bought the idea that his contract was a real problem for us. that was just doomsaying, imo.

dlo seems like a dummy, but he's not schroder--he's not going to walk away from good money for an uncertain market.

Arenas is an idiot. A delusional one that thinks he's smarter than he is, at that.

oconnor doesn't mention us, but i think this is more plausible than some do:

he mentions a few teams with draft picks, but neglects the klutch connection. i could totally see trae asking out this summer and putting us on a very short list of teams, and i could see us being the one that makes the biggest offer. and i actually think atlanta should do it, tbh. i'd prefer to get murray for cheaper, for the record.

no point in giving up assets that could be useful in the summer for lateral moves IMO.

if there is a deal that makes us substantially better take it, if not best to not do anything, don't shoot ourselves in the foot trying to compete for a championship when we can barely make the playoffs.
