When will Dennis learn that, unlike Kobe betting on himself is not working out for him.

There's 3 players I want to know the actual cost of and not what their team is asking 3 weeks out from the deadline.
    1) Ty Jones
    2) Dennis
    3) DFS

For instance, could we pull off:
Gabe, Cam, Lewis and 3 seconds for Jones? They have to eat Gabe's deal but get a prospect plus a few picks.

    Then

TP, JHS, Hayes, and a top 10 protected first for DFS? JHS hasn't panned out for us, but we just took him on the 1st, that's essentially two firsts.

That is 6 for 2, but only TP and Cam are NBA players.

    That gives you:
    AD/Wood
    Bron/Vando
    DFS/Rui
    AR/Max
    DLO/Jones

That's about as good of a 9 man rotation as I think we can get without giving up our higher end players.

Then you hit buyout market for whatever shakes free to fill a couple spots.

    Yeah, right?!
Dude never learned the “stay in yo lane” phrase which even though used by the nutty Lavar, is a truth that many of these guys refuse to heed.

I would not hate this at all. It could be enough to get us into the eighth spot at least.
I’m expecting the Murray deal to fall through and these smaller moves could ease the pain.

this would be awesome: keeps continuity and plugs multiple holes without losing any strengths

Even though I would prefer to keep Hachi, the significant improvement in our POA can’t be minimized because it’s our weakest point.
I would be down for this one. We would probably have to include a couple seconds as well.

We didn't have Dennis' bird rights. We had no ability to pay him what he's worth this season (i.e. $12.4M).

can brown be packaged in a deal now? i thought the window for that was very short.

that and we couldn't offer him the starting spot unless we wanted to lose dlo, too (and we'd already decided to punt both beasley and bamba's bird rights or salary slots). schroder wasn't coming back under any reasonable circumstance.

i mean, after this latest trade, he's officially run out of spots right? which team is starting schroder over their current starter?

Think that ship is long gone. This doesn't help matters if you are holding on to the AD/Turner pairing

I think a lot with Dennis wanting to start is more about him trying to redeem himself and earning another big time contract to make up for the FOMO of not taking the Lakers $85 million extension.

He knows he will never get another offer like that unless he’s a starter. To his credit though, he has been putting in the work to be a really good NBA player that can stick around in the league for another 5-8 years as long as he is content with playing his role, which is 6th man of the year candidate.

It could have saved both the Lakers and Dennis a lot of inconvenience if he was just cool with being the first guard off the bench (while still playing 25-30mpg) for the next 3 years while collecting the full MLE. He wouldn’t have had to move to Toronto only to end up not starting anyway.

The lakers could have avoided Kendrick Nunn 2.0 this way, and instead have a really good backup point guard who’s coming off winning the FIBA World Cup MVP over the summer.
