They want injured players who won't help?

I'm confused...Memphis was already down two bigs, in Clarke and Adams, so they signed Biyombo, and started him in 27 games. Now they cut him, so they can sign another big on a two way contract?

They've entered the tank. Goals have changed. Anyone expiring is up for grabs and they're probably looking to unearth a younger two way guy to develop.

Might as well pick him up. I mean, he has no offensive game, but defensively he's solid as a rock.

One way players are our specialty this year. Might as well get a ying to Wood's yang who brings something else to the table and who you can deploy against the Embiids, KATs, and Jokers.

For a prorated minimum... I'd be bummed if Hayes isn't included in whatever deal we make at the deadline so we can clear a spot for him.

    Elsewhere...

Can't play Biyombo against Embiid, Joker, or KAT, Zubac either. He's only 6'8, roughly the same height as Reddish and Vanderbilt. That's why Phoenix let him go. Too small for the big guys, and not enough lateral quickness for the PF. If Monty couldn't use him against the Flippers and Nuggets, and Frank passed on him this season, I'm not sure how much he helps us in the playoffs.

Right now, shrug...he might be more useful than Hayes tho. I'd wait a minute, and see what shakes loose once the trade market kicks in.

difference is he's 255 lbs. One of the bigger guys in the league. There's only 15 other guys in the league at that weight who are actually playing (i quantified that as 25+ games logged this season). He's got 40 pounds on each Cam and Vando. That's why we play Rui in those situations with mixed results, at 230 he's the biggest guy on the team not named Bron or AD (Castleton doesn't qualify because Ham doesn't acknowledge his existence). BB is effective because of that mass + a massive 7-7 wingspan (Wood and Hayes each have a 7-3 wingspan).

Still got a long way to go to get there.

When you have defensive minded players around you-- AD, Bron (when he wants), Cam, Vando, Gabe (if he's alive) it's different than being the best defensive big or best defensive player on the roster.

Monty isn't looking so hot right now. For the record, I think he's a damn good coach but he's failing in Detroit and that roster is better than that. He was hired to transform the culture and he's not getting it done. So before we use him as the example, that matters.

Frank isn't the GM, if he was then 80% of that roster wouldn't be there. He likes defense. That roster doesn't. It's like Mike Brown in Sac. Defensive coach with an offensive roster, but it's actually working there.

There is no way, we aren't getting into the playoffs this season JSM, unless LeBron or AD got injured. It wouldn't matter what we did if that happened.

I guess you didn't watch the Suns in the playoffs. Bismarck was getting overwhelmed by Zubac and Joker, and he couldn't keep up with the PF's, they had to sit him. .In each of his last two seasons there, he avg less than 10min a game. The lack of size is the problem, long arms don't compensate for that.

I would have taken him over Hayes thus summer, but I would have still been looking for another big during the season.

I didn't mean we aren't getting in, but there's a lot of uphill basketball to be played first. AD is on record how he prefers not to bang against those guys more than necessary. If you can give him 10 minutes he doesn't have to in February, that is wear and tear you're ducking and can bank that for the post-season. Even if Bron and AD keep up this impressive healthy stretch all year, you want to preserve them when and where you can.

Scheme and personnel matters. Also what's available matters. If something better shakes free in the next 4 weeks, by all means. I don't think it will, especially at that cost. I think the most gettable trade wise is Drummond and he's bad at defense, he's just big.

I'll simplify it like this: he's better than Hayes. If we have a way to bolster our defense at the position, we should. I'd rather play Biyombo 8 minutes against Embiid than Rui 8 minutes against Embiid.

Lebron needs to be on the phone with Steph.

    Crib sheet for the convo:
We both got 4 do we really want these pretend best player in the league guys like Tatum, Ant, and Kawhii to get even a sniff of our legacy.

    It's time
