I could talk myself into it, if it is just Russell, Rui, and Vincent for LaVine and Drummond. If we could get Chicago to throw in leta say a 2028 top 10 protected first round pick, I would pull the trigger on thee trade for sure. That is the draft when LaVine, AD, Reaves contracts expires. The extra pick, along with the 2029 pick could be resources that we could use to perhaps get off of LaVines contract in the future and/or help with rebuilding.

I agree: I'm not giving them any non-lotter protected picks and want Caruso. They need to pay the Lakers to take that albatross essentially
(Lavine really does fit well with what the Lakers need offensively but still this is like the Wiggins situation IMO)

Lavine’s contract might set us back as much as Luold Dung’s did:Laugh:

For the Kings kind of risky move in the first place. Siakam is clearly more talented than Barnes but Siakam can't shoot anymore.

Spacing would get janky with both Sabonis and Siakam together. Siakam hasn't shot the ball well from outside since their title run.

If the Pacers had put the mop boys on blast how Antetokounmpo called out the equipment managers, maybe this wouldn't have happened.

    If you aren't familiar...

Seriously though, hope Hali is alright. He's been having a hell of a year.

LOL. But seriously I wonder how he hurt it. He's always just launching his body into the air going to the rim whether or not someones already there or not .... crashing to the floor be damned. "Yeah that makes him exciting". << No that makes him stupid and going to be injury prone, not to mention when he gets "winged" in the drive bys. Boy he sure f****d Memphis this year with the variety of reasons he has/will be out the whole damn year except for like 10 games.

Partial dislocation. Guessing it was the go- to drive, sky and fall. That timeline pushes him potentially to July. He's going to need all of the next training camp to shake off that rust.

Lakers possibly setting up a 4 for 6 trade:

Lakers get: LaVine, Caruso, Drummond, and Phillips

Bulls get: Russell, Hachimura, Vincent, Prince, JHS and Hayes

    Why for Lakers?

    • Get a big-time scorer in LaVine
    • Improve three-point shooting with LaVine and Caruso. Unfortunately, we get rid of Taurean, but the latter are more prolific shooters, especially LaVine. More volume too.
    • Improve backup center position with Drummond
    • Caruso's defense
    • Get rid of Russell
    • Get rid of Vincent
    • Get rid of JHS
    • Get rid of Hayes
    Why for Bulls?

    • Dump LaVine's albatross contract
    • Rui/Vincent relatively young - relatively reasonable/tradable deals - rebuilding type players. Rui would be a solid rebuilding peace for them.
    • Bulls had interest in Dlo in the offseason
    • JHS good for rebuilding
    • Hayes expiring fodder
    • Prince expiring fodder
I would be ecstatic if we could do this. Might have to part with a pick though. Alternatively, Lakers could also deal Russell, Hachimura, and Vincent for La Vine and Drummond. Which trade is better?

We could use someone like Kennard. I wonder what they would want? Whatever the case I think we are doing to get LaVine and probably wouldn't have anything left to match salary.
