Yep, only to result in them getting a worse deal from the Clippers.

Cost us another Kobe title, would've been a lot less wear and tear on his body. if we get CP, we don't trade for a broken Nash a year later and we wouldn't have given up those draft picks. Dwight works better with a younger healthier CP and Chris can be the go between for "fun" Dwight and the Mamba Mentality.

Would've saved us from the dumpster we spent much of the decade in.

    Yup :D
I guess kicking a** in Euroleague being 16-17 at that time wasn't enough. Kid made grown a** man look like fools out there.

I refuse to believe that a team that starts Malik Beasley will win s*** in the NBA playoffs. Combined with Lillard there is no f***ing way they can defend in the playoffs

Not only starts Beas but deploys him as their "wing stopper." That's just not something you do unless you're a tank commander.

yeah, and people like to act like all that terrible stuff was going to happen anyway, but it most certainly was NOT. it was a snowball from that point on. including ending up losing pau for nothing. it was a nuclear event with incredible fallout. i always intensely disliked stern--even before that--but man, that guy was the devil.

yeah, he was obviously a generational talent. i couldn't believe he didn't go 1st, but when he slipped past 2nd, i was shocked. then atlanta TRADED him. dallas doesn't get enough credit for somehow nabbing him when they walked into the draft with the 5th overall pick.

stern vetoed that trade because 1. that entire 2011 lockout was centered around giving small market teams a better chance at winning and 2. he wanted NO to tank and give them the #1 pick to make them more appealing to a new buyer

i'll forever be grateful to lebron for saving the franchise

Didn't Sengun do this as well at that age? I know it was in a worse league but seems like as a teenager you can be basically be the best player in an adult pro league you're going to be pretty good or Franky great.

Sengun going to 16? Is nuts looking back at it. Not as much as Luka but still

Yeah, there probably would've been some bumps because the Buss Bros were f***ing idiots but talent of that level and the draw to play with those two would've masked most of that. A very frustrating sliding doors moment.

Getting both Dirk and Luka how they got them is unreal. Bagley going 2nd is Darko 2.0. In a 2018 redraft, he's going in the early 20s. I blame Luka not being in my city on Steph Curry. I'd probably actually go to some games to had they kept him. But as the Hawks now know, and should've then, Trae ain't Steph.

i think there were legitimate reasons to doubt sengun, though. he's very unathletic at the center position, and jokic is sort of the exception that proves the rule there, right?

i got that one more than luka.

but the general point is definitely true: young guys doing well in upper-tier overseas leagues tend to have success in the nba and should be drafted higher. scola and marc gasol are also examples.

Pelicans 'repeatedly remind' Zion of his poor conditioning; Williamson 'won't listen'

New Orleans is trying to change the way forward Zion Williamson eats, NOLA reports.
    LOL .

The Pelicans repeatedly reminded Williamson that his diet and conditioning needed to improve. Williamson, according to multiple team sources, “isn’t listening,” writes journalist Christian Clarke.

During the first stoppage in play of Thursday’s loss to the Los Angeles Lakers, Zion Williamson plopped on the New Orleans Pelicans’ bench and struggled to breathe, looking as though he had just completed a half-marathon.

Williamson, who had just jogged back on defense to try to contest a Taurean Prince 3-pointer, appeared winded even though the game was not even five minutes old. The 23-year-old’s poor conditioning was painfully apparent on the specially designed red and blue court for the NBA's new In-Season Tournament in Las Vegas.

Turns out that was just related to the team removing the pre-game buffet.

It's a real shame if he can't get in shape and drop weight. Really unique player who is fun to watch when he has it going. He should be Barkley 2.0 and the NBA would be better if he could reach that

I believe that Vlade had issues with Luka's father. It was a character thing, I guess his pops is kinda gangster or something. They missed out on a generational talent that's for sure. I'm still unsure why they didn't try to keep Haliburton and Fox together either.

I’m sorry, but for Max Contracts, there needs to be some stipulation stating that the player must remain in great physical shape( a targeted range of height to weight ratio, as well as a baseline of %body fat).
These guys make absurd amounts of money and to have it in their contracts that they can’t balloon up seems quite reasonable to me.
Upon hearing this, I’ve lost all respect for this Fat, Selfish Beast.

Not to mention that this guy pushes off his defender every single play when he can't create space for himself. He must have shoved our guys with his off arm 10 times at least and never once got called for an offensive foul. Cry more.
