i really wonder how lavine is viewed across the league. i've seen all the musings lately, but i don't think he has a ton of value, despite some of the eyepopping performances.

beal was basically traded for 4 1st round pick swaps, three of which were protected (basically top 10)--this is if i read it right, the details were kind of confusing.

to me, dlo and rui are more valuable than chris paul's contract was, so i'm not sure how much draft capital i'd want to add on. if we add gabe and caruso to the deal, then we have to up the draft (very lightly protected 29 pick and a couple top-8 protected swaps or something?). and we'd be taking on salary AND leaving ourselves with no pg.

    i'm not seeing it, tbh.

maybe if we really suck on 12/15 i'll change my mind, but i don't see a trade that makes me happy right now.

This is what I'm saying Lavine's contract is so bad that I don't think it would take much to take him beyond salary matching. From the Lakers perspective it should be you give us Caruso to get that awful deal off your books because no else is going to do it. Lavine/Caruso/Reaves and a buyout PG is an upgrade for the playoffs but the Lakers have room to make different moves (OG/Schroeder would be the most interesting)

This team has more weaknesses that that mostly at guard and most caused by flipping for Gabe. No good defensive guard, no quick guard who can play baseleine to baseline..

Even Dennis who was great against most guards wasn't good vs bigger guards.l like Murray. Caruso would help a lot: he's in his prime and is a better player now then when he was the Lakers. More confident shooter and on offense

i assume you mean dejounte murray? and i'd bet we're watching atlanta closely. they've got a lot of cash locked up in that backcourt, and we could use either of them.

Murray is the absolute ideal pair for Reaves: complement each other well. Murray is athletic, can take the POA defensive duties, has good size and pretty good 3 point shooter. Reaves is a better creator/playmaker

i'd love it, but it would take a trade demand from murray, and i think his extension makes trades more complicated. i thought if atlanta crashed and burned again that we'd likely be the landing spot for young, but so far, i haven't seen anything that makes me think they'll make a move that drastic.

    murray is klutch, though.

Austin plays well with any guard, that can attack off the dribble IMO. That's just not his strong suit, but if he gets the ball back, after a team rotates to cover that drive action, Austin is a problem.

i don't want lavine, either, but this is the highest level of player you could probably hope the team could obtain given our assets and other teams' situations.

i've never been a huge young fan, but i think folks are going a little overboard on him in the opposite direction lately. he'd be an upgrade over dlo, who stopped being preseason dlo.

doesn't really matter, though, as i don't think we could get him if we wanted him. too big a pr hit for atlanta.

Sengun is questionable for Monday's matchup against Golden State due to a lower back contusion.
Lol he was perfectly fine vs Lakers

Sounds like the right idea to me...I'm still a bit perplexed with D'Angelo, but there is no telling which player, might decide to seek a change of scenery by the trade deadline.
