    Shrug. On the flipside..

Portland also played Gary Payton jr hurt, and then tried to trade him to Golden State, without informing them that he was injured. The Trailblazers aren't exactly some kind of "squeaky clean" ran franchise.

The Mavs just got fined 750k for their shenanigans. We all know these teams aren't above sitting players out to tank, for a better draft position, or even playoffs seeding. It's just curious, that when disputes erupt between players and teams, there is a tendency, to see things from the team's perspective more often than not.

SPJ is just never going to be a rotational NBA level player - not enough size and not enough athleticism to overcome it

Yeah. He seems like a G- League Lifer. First time I even realized Valerio- Boden was in camp with us was last game when he got on the floor.

I think OKC need more picks. Not sure if they have enough right now.

I don't know what the end game is at this point. Do they just want to eventually have a draft canceled and have the entire class just fly to OKC directly?

There was a time that Victor Oladipo for (2) 2nds would be highway robbery

    This is absurd:

I think they are getting ready to trade for Herschel Walker

JRE is a solid return for HOU. Assuming Dipo gets bought out and if/when he recovers from his injury, a team will give him a look.

Guessing this is end of the road for Porter Jr and good riddance.

Here's the math on the deal

yeah, it puts them in position to trade for a star (but who's accepting the move to okc?), but they better do it now, or they'll have to start recycling (trading current for future picks), and you usually lose on those--nobody's trading say, a top-10 protected future pick for this year's #23 or something.

definitely a team to call if you want to buy into the first round going forward, though.

they've got 16 guys under contract next year and at least two frps in 2024. so they'll have to be cutting guys they've recently drafted (possibly in the first round, ironically) or trading those picks.

think i saw that they dropped part of the charges on him already, though, right? i don't follow closely enough to know how that would affect his status. but i mean, josh primo's already found another gig, and lance stephenson had a lengthy nba career after some pretty nasty behavior/allegations early, iirc.

I somewhat irrationally can't stand OKC. The fetishizing of having a million draft picks gets annoying. Shai is legit, but these preseason player rankings with him ahead of guys like LeBron, AD or even Butler is too far for me. I just hate when the young core with potential teams are overly hyped compared to the teams actually trying to compete now. Take the Sixers for example. They're kind of a joke, with the constant drama over the last few years and Harden/Embiid's playoff shortcomings. But at least they're going for it and trying to tweak that team every year. I respect that. The easiest thing to do is trade all your good players for draft picks, anyone can do that.

Yeah, with SGA, Chet, Giddey, Williams and Williams, and now Wallace; that's a good foundation. They need to pick a move soon before it's time to start shelling out those second contracts.

    2nd degree assault was dropped.
Still pending: 2nd degree strangulation (max of 7yrs) and 3rd degree assault still pending.

Girl is walking back her story for some reason, so that's interesting. I'd think her sister would know the true story, so the fact that she went after him on social media makes me think the ex is walking it back for other reasons.

Guess teams at the least want to see how the remaining charges play out.

Primo's role model appears to be DeShaun Watson. He just didn't get to 23 (or was it more?...I lost count) women.

Lance probably gets a harsher rap in today's world. When he was 18, there was a sexual assault charge against a 17 year old. Those are always tricky. Then at 20 he got 3rd degree assault charges for pushing his girl down the stairs. Choking is more intense, easier sell for the DA than pushing down the stairs because of the visual and it's a continued action.

Porter is one of those knuckleheads I was alluding to in that Rockets locker room awhile back. He isn't the only one BTW..however he is talented, someone will pick him up on the cheap. Probably the Flippers .Once the realization of how much money is at stake hits home...it's rather amazing, how much the story starts to shift, around these domestic violence situations.

oh yeah, i'm not naive enough to think that there might be some significant motivation for kpj's victim to alter the story. i'm also not naive enough to think a talent-starved nba team might feign the requisite naivete to sign him.

Yeah, they're absolutely on the clock to make a move.
An interesting case to follow until February where we will get a good glimpse of their potential and the clock ticking for a move to happen.

They can also trade up in the draft with those picks, but not always teams are open to that. They've made the right moves to have options. But you don't win with options, you win with the decisions you make so let's see what they go for

preach. and the sixers were on the other end in the hinkie era, tbh. it's very easy to suck and promise greatness down the road. it's actually harder to just...make the playoffs, tbh. i don't know who convinced fans of the ricky bobby theory of franchise building, but they need to go to hell. i feel the same about the lakers, btw--there's all this "ring or nothing" stuff. no! rings are great. i want them as a fan; they're super fun. but mostly, i just want to see good basketball more often than not. these gms that put their fans through years of awful hoops by promising something that's incredibly precarious even if you're the best team on paper...yuck. snake oil.

back to current subject: i said it elsewhere as you are--if SGA is truly a top five player...WHY ARE YOU HOARDING DRAFT PICKS?! WIN RIGHT NOW! DID YOU NOT LEARN FROM LAST TIME?!
