    Here we go again.
    @stephenasmith
reacts to Anthony Davis showing interest in participating for Team USA in the 2024 Olympics in Paris

"I don't want to hear nothing about no damn Anthony Davis representing Team USA. ... I need to make sure he's going to show up for Lakers games."

    Games played since 2016
    Kevin Durant: 345 (34.7 mpg)
    Steph Curry: 387 (33.7 mpg)
    Anthony Davis: 400 (34.7 mpg)
Tell that to Durant,Kawhi or Embid too

    Philly if Harden is moved.
Otherwise Minny. They're contending... for the play-in.

Those are the two playoff teams that really jump out needing help at the point.

1.Teams must maintain a balance between the number of star player one-game absences for home and away games, with preference given to home matches.

    2. Teams must refrain from putting a basketball player on an extended suspension—or near-cessation—when a star player ceases to play or plays in a significantly reduced role under circumstances affecting the integrity of the basketball.

    3. Teams must ensure that healthy and rested players are present at matches and in the presence of fans.

In addition, the NBA will provide several “excuseable” situations to justify missing a game, including those associated with back-to-back matches during the regular season.

For example, according to ESPN sources, the NBA will allow pre-approved passes for players who are 35 years of age or older or have a career “load” of 34,000 regular-season minutes or 1,000 career games played

So Kawhi and PG-13 are not eligible for load management anymore

Yeah, they were actually men back then, not the overgrown, extremely coddled babies we have now.

40-year-old Jordan in his last season for the Wizards played all 82 matches, an average of 37 minutes per game and this is only 35th place in minutes per game.
last season he would have become third in minutes on average...

True most of that but then there were ALWAYS injuries, and I don't think the "majority" of players were playing 82 games. More than the average player does now but come on.

I thought he was a solid contributor. Surprised he wasn't at least traded for another asset if they didn't want him on the team.

shams really carrying water for lillard.

someone needs to explain to me why portland would re-engage with miami when they couldn't come to an agreement before? literally nothing has changed except the passage of time.

i wonder how many teams (including us, btw) have put in good faith offers just to make sure miami can't just walk away with him for their spare parts?

he's under contract for the rest of his career! i'm supposed to buy that he's going to just completely drown his legacy due to the tantrum? he could have played out losing seasons in portland and ended up being better regarded than if he wins a ring in miami, imo. just gross.

he mostly just showed up against us. otherwise he was meh-to-bad or injured all the time. basically had one fluke year in 20-21 where he was a good backup pg. i actually wouldn't be that surprised if nobody picked him up until an injury occurs.

Hope he didn’t buy a place yet. Professional sports can be a tough gig on that front.

Nah, he played really well in Phoenix when CP3 went down multiple teams. A fantasy gem, low TOs, pts and assists, occasional steals. His FG would go up and down

I think he can be a good backup for a lot of contenders. Not much reliable in postseason though

nah, he was pretty bad outside of that one year. unreliable shooter, not much of a defender.

This last year he was bad yes. Had some injuries too and didn't mesh well with KD.

I see him playing a role in Miami (if no Lillard), Oklahoma, Milwaukee or even Denver as that semi-orchestrator off the bench who doesn't lose the ball much, can create and score some buckets. These teams usually have good defensive players who can offset his defensive lapses for the need of that burst

So is Porter going to be out for a year or kicked out of the league?

Stuff coming out is quite ugly.
