Lonzo made that team interesting. HIm and Caruso were lockdown defenders and with Lonzo passing he made the offense a lot less clunky than depending on LaVine brain dead iso game. Feel really bad for the kid - he obviously worked really hard on his jumpshot and turned a weakness into a strength. Always seemed like a nice kid despite his dad's histrionics and before he got hurt honestly he looked like a player deserving of such a high lottery selection.

Without him, the pieces just don't seem to fit.

Still hope we get him, I think Hayes is a good pickup but he's going to have to take a big leap up (or just used in a different and productive way than what NO was doing with him). Hayes plus/minus look pedestrian to bad across the board the last few years. So while I like the fit with the Lakers a lot more (his body type, floor game seems like a bigger and more athletic version of Gabriel which worked with Ham's system), I don't think anyone is wagering big money on him just yet.

Interesting the Thunder might have to waive good players for nothing with all their incoming draft picks

Question to anyone who knows: Is Markieff Morris washed? Haven’t kept up with him since he left LA.

who's got TEs and cap space? i imagine okc will dump them for 2nds before outright cutting them.

but yes, there will be some pieces there, and yes, this is a reason that draft pick hoarding isn't so great.

think so. he generally looks like the same guy he's been for many years, but he's 33, and his last few stops haven't found much use for him.

Yikes. I'd still likely sign him and roll the dice, but I won't be upset if he ends up elsewhere.

Did the whole organization and every teammate just hate Poole? I mean that punch was no joke - haymaker out of the blue.
It wasn't like it was heated exchange on the court or practice where they were in each other faces - he walked up to him and basically blindsided him.

Don't really know how they kind of tried to pretend it didn't happen

I'm one of the few who likes Dray. But right now he must just stfu and move on. Team traded Poole and he got 100mil. Everything is like he wanted so to bring this topic to life again it's stupid and reckless.

It's ok because we have 3 months until season starts but doesn't help anyone and hopefully he won't affect the team with it in the next time they play Washington

Doesn’t seem like Pool is well like around the NBA like Draymond is.

I would agree with that sentiment too even though I’m no huge fan of Draymond either.

Sure if you ignore that JP pushed Draymond first. If you do that to someone you should be expecting a response

Man some folks really believe in going nuclear for everything. Video is pretty clear that Draymond gets in his face. Poole face is turned and pushes away when a guy clear is in his personal space. it certainly doesn't look like a malicious push but then Green goes full aggro with a haymaker.

Can't tell how many times I've placed basketball where people get in faces, push away, but the number of times people go full aggro and start punching is very few. This is a good thing and I wouldn't want Green's response to be considered "normal" or "good"

I’m encouraged by that Christian Wood report that the FO seems to be very aware about the concerns around him, and been doing a lot of background checks. Plus already have some people familiar with Wood

I get all the concerns about him, but if the FO decides to bring him in I think you have to trust them.

Draymond talked about it in Pat Bev's podcast. His father has nothing to lose, Dray has.
True. If he comes we surely made due diligence and were honest with him. The only upside in having him is if he fits the culture and is aware that he has a role. Winning teams have guys who play their role. That's why their are called ROLE players.

If you watch Gabe talk about Miami team (who overachieved again) he says there were no egos. We were like that post trade with Dlo, Rui or Vando slipping out of the rotations in different matchups, even Lonnie and stayed positive, ready and rooting for the team.

If Wood comes in the right mindset, he can be a great addition. Give us 10/15 minutes a game and up to 25 when AD is out, with main focus on boards and defense. He can get a couple shots but he won't hog the ball. We have so many other offensive weapons that is main impact can't be in scoring. That's the tricky part here. His role with us isn't based on his main strength. If he averages 20ppg but can't play defense he doesn't have value for us. We have plenty of scorers. Our offense is also feed from defense, playing in transition after getting stops.

Another thing is we are probably looking to have Rui on the floor when AD is out. So I think between Wood and Hayes, the latter seems to fit better with Rui.

Whatever happens, I trust our FO. We are being well run now
