I don't know if that's all he has or not. That's what's being bandied about in the Media. They haven't been accurate on a lot of stuff over the last couple of offseasons though. However...If he does land on a contender, they will most definitely, turn around, and hype it as being a big deal.

Cam Whitmore does look good-great in these SL, so does Bates. Not sure if others see it or means much but JHS looks better than Dlo as a rookie IMO, I dont think we have long term aspiration with Dlo given his contract

I think Rob was wise to have a cost effective solution developing and waiting in the wings.

Surprising. Pretty sure he’s barely played the last few years and hasn’t looked very good.

And I think $3.1M is actually slightly above the minimum? If so, that means the Kings are using part of their room exception I think. Not sure who they had to outbid for Noel.

Starting to make more sense why Biyombo and Wood are holding out, maybe a larger contract does eventually come up

EDIT: I’m probably wrong on that. I think the veteran’s minimum is just higher this year with the raises in salary cap. Someone pointed out that Cody Zeller who was reported to sign with NOP for the minimum is also making $3.1 million

Anyone happen to have the information of how the minimum scales with experience this year? Sportrac still has it listed as “TBD” for this year: https://www.spotrac.com/nba/cba/minimum/

    They are not alone

Irwin had Kirk Henderson on to discuss Wood.
    https://open.spotify.com/episode/77rDWp4ZyEcH1Zh1PJrXxw?si=xNeM6AQ9R3SlFehwrGyVcg

Henderson covers the Mavs for Mavs Moneyball. The takeaways from Henderson:
    - Wood would be good as the 10-12th man. You want him capped around 15 minutes a game against end of the rotation bigs. It's when he's playing 25+ against more talented bigs is when there's trouble.
    - he can't defend a chair. It's not that he's not trying, he's just awful at it and wasn't on teams looking to teach him in his early stops.
    - didn't hear of any off the court issues with Dallas, just on the court issues.
    - called him an empty calorie all star in terms of production.
-Apparently Wood's agent is a pain. I looked up the agency -- Pensack Sports. Never heard of them before. There's a reason, they specialize in bums
    https://basketball.realgm.com/info/agent-client-list/Ben-Pensack/146
    https://basketball.realgm.com/info/agent-client-list/Ben-Pensack/146

    - His agent was mass messaging Wood's stats to those that cover the team, pushing positive Wood propaganda. Even sent some of this out to the team. During the early stages of the season, before Wood soured, there were extension discussions to the tune of $17-$18m a year for two years. His agents balked.

I've been intrigued by essentially playing Wood as 2020 McGee from a rotation standpoint. 15ish minutes a game, all to start the half next to AD. But if even that would take the bottom out of our defense (I assume the idea would be to have Wood guard the big so AD can roam), it might not even be worth it.

he is wrong. the lakers were in every one of those games. i think i saw that the combined point differential between denver and LA in the series was the lowest ever for a sweep

maybe he feels that way because denver was making all of their shots, but there were one or two games in the series that denver only won because of circus shots from jokic/murray

Hope we get to see the bulletin board in the Lakers locker room next season. If it isn't filled with motivational quips from the idiots in Denver, then we are not doing our jobs. Between Malone and half the players making all kinds of disparaging comments about us, we should be ready for htem.

    Good times bidding against yourself.

Then Portland shops the offer til they find something better and exclaim Miami didn’t offer enough.
