Impressive. I am very happy with our moves so far. Some are better than others, sure, but the team is improved and will be a contender next year if healthy.

Reaves gets his player option and we get 3 years of him locked at the MLE rather than 2, that’s a wonderful outcome. Strange to me his agents couldn’t get someone to put an offer sheet in.

Also if I’m reading it right, DLO signs for 2 years but effectively has a player option for next year? That’s like a one year contract basically. He must be super disappointed hoping he had a market out there for him around 25m for 4 years. I think this means we trade him throughout the season, unless he performs incredibly well.

I assume teams are trying to lock in players before the new TV deal is up and contracts get even more crazy.

I'm betting this team doesn't get off to a 2-10 start.

With the insane contract numbers being given out this summer, this is a steal IMO.

I could make an argument to bring back Beasley for that 14th spot, but going with another big man probably makes more sense.

Would be nice to get someone with a more reliable track record, but at the same time I feel like Bamba has some potential that we never got the chance to see. Lower floor, but higher ceiling.

can't believe reaves's agent couldn't get someone to make the big offer. would have been no skin off the spurs' back to do it.

whatever, i'll take it. he's locked up below market value for three years.

Yeah I still want Bamba if he’s there to be had. I feel he showed some potential. A little light on the backside though.

Was hoping to get Plumlee for a friendly price, but it doesn’t look possible.

given that we don't have any more exceptions, either signing beasley or s&ting him for another big is the right move, imo. could bring back whatever salary keeps us under the tax or apron.

Teams must have believed we were serious about matching and not even tried. No reason to lock up your cap space for a hopeful signing that would never happen.

Kept the core of the team intact with good contracts while adding some good pieces. I’m pretty content with the off-season and what the front office got done.

Our bluff of waiting until the last minute to match it and basically keeping the team from being able to make any other deals in that time period worked.

I'm guessing his agent doesn't have that sort of pull?

but it's 24 hours, and the spurs obviously aren't in a rush. unless they found something they wanted to do with their space that was time sensitive. guess we'll find out. anyway, again, not complaining at all. i just can't believe that's how it went. i also worried reaves would ask for a 1+1 in a "bet on myself" gambit that made him a UFA with full bird rights next year. but he took the sure thing, which i understand.

So from what I can tell this is our current salary structure for the following season:

    Lebron James: $46,698,737
    Anthony Davis: $40,600,080
    D'Angelo Russell: $17,788,462
    Rui Hachimura: $15,740,741
    Austin Reaves: $12,002,00
    Gabe Vincent: $10,476,190
    Jared Vanderbilt:$4,698,000
    Taurean Prince: $4,516,000
    Jalen Hood-Schifino: $3,078,800
    Jaxson Hayes: $2,165,000
    Cam Reddish: $2,165,000
    Maxwell Lewis: $1,828,300
    Max Christie: $1,719,864

That puts us somewhere around $‎163,495,094.00. So theoretically, we are currently under the luxury tax line of $165m and have space for one more vet minimum.

The questions becomes, do we play it cheap and not pay any tax and reset our repeater tax situation, OR do we go past the tax line to the hard cap of $172,346,000? If we go to the hard cap we can resign one of our the free agents we still retain bird rights to. Beasley, Bamba, Lonnie? If we wanted to hold 15, we could resign both Beasley and Bamba as an example.

gotta give it to Rob, he did extremely well.

I wasn't thrilled with giving the full MLE to Vincent, but considering Dennis got more money, that made it much easier to swallow.

the rest are all very team-friendly deals.
