lol, max sounds like rob. he looks kinda jacked, and he was talking about that. very curious to see if he takes a big step like toklat thinks this year. that backup sg spot between him and reddish should be interesting. cam's got a ton of talent, and this may be his last chance, but max seems ready to take on a bigger role right now. edit: jhs continues to be a hilariously bad interview. i don't think it's on purpose, but he just gives you nothing.
What I picked out from the podium interviews (haven't gotten around to the spectrum ones yet) AD Didn't love hearing that he didn't change anything and that he always boxes. His off-season approach looked different from the outside and this was the first we've seen him box. Thought was he's changing it up a little, fine tuning it because the status quo wasn't perfect. Outside of Bron, I don't think anyone has the perfect off-season routine. Glad he's taking the two bigs under his wing, I like it. They both desperately need it. The increased role/leadership role talk every summer is old. He's a leader in his way and he'll never be the Bron kind of leader. This has been a story since he got here. That's not his style. This has literally been the regurgitated talking point every year since he's gotten here. Bron Nice to get a full report on Bronny. Expect big things with the season dedicated to his son. I'd like to know more on the foot. Follow up should've been, so you didn't get surgery on it? Because I was under the impression there was no avoiding that. Rui Says body and weight is the same just a little more defined. Bull s***! No way he's the same weight unless he converted 10-15 pounds to muscle. Good stuff about Bron and Handy's involvement. Been working on the footwork, when you have a mid range game like his that can make you unstoppable. He knows what's important, not who starts (although I think he will) but who finishes the game. Wood Interesting that he's not looking at this as a one year stop and said he wants to stay. A lot can change for either party in a year but that's not what I expected. Liked hearing Bron and AD have been first ones in the gym and already have a full sweat at 7 AM. Seems everyone is in his ear about team first and about meaningful basketball -- Rob, Ham, Bron. Hopefully he gets the hints.
..... wow I have absolutely zero idea where that is coming from, thought his interview was fine. And IF I recall correctly, unlike during summer league if wasn't peppered with "for sure" or one of those types of phrases, not even one. Well enough spoken and answered what he could. When asked if any ONE vet player had been more of a help so far, he just said they'd all been great. Answered what he liked about the mini camp, and what his impressions were about how the NBA was different from college, and what he felt he needed to work on, briefly at least. Anyway just seemed a far cry from "hilariously bad" IMO. Maxwell Lewis .... on another note .... I had not known and was surprised to hear they gave him a 4 year contract? Wow, that's great if he really improves in next year or two as they'll still have him cost controlled.
