they also forced nunn the other way on that one, too, but the general action still worked because bodies were moving with purpose.

It seems to me that we are going with a platoon of guards and a platoon of bigs. So we’ll be real big at the PF and C and play with three guards.

    Westbrook / Schroeder
    Bev / Nunn
    Reaves / Walker / Brown
    Lebron / Gabriel / JTA
    AD / Bryant / Jones

We might get this kind of split for majority of minutes played. I actually don’t mind it. I think defensively we’ll be fine and we’ll do good enough offensively. But maybe we have some rebounding troubles?

we could win a lot of games that way, but none against the clippers, which is what the forum cares about the very most.

I think for clippers we’ll probably play:

    Russ
    Bev
    Lebron
    AD
    Gabriel/JTA or Brown

I think Gabriel could develop into an interesting defender. He would be a good Kawhi or PG defender. Or even throw him against KD or Giannis. He is fast and big.

gabriel's lateral quickness isn't outstanding, though--wiseman just lost him on a faceup, similar to someone else a couple games back, iirc--so he'll have to get better at anticipating if he's going to play quicker guys on the perimeter.

problem with the clips is they'll run three big wings and just iso the one we don't put lebron or AD on. this is part of why marcus morris always kills us despite being pretty meh overall.

Key to beating the Clippers for us is going to come down to big games from AD.

Definitely tired of losing to the tenants and will be vocal about it again this year so everyone is getting advance warning on it. lol.

Yeah. I don't see it but if Ham can make get Gabriel playing well enough to guard those guys then he needs an immediate lifetime deal.

I think Gabriel (and a lot of our supporting cast) can be serviceable defenders but would caution against setting expectations too high for any of them. Just sets them up to fail. I think that is part of what drove criticisms of Kuz.

yeah, i honestly don't care. it seems like some folks on here would rather be in the lotto and sweep the clippers than lose all 4 against them but finish 1st. i'm glad the clippers get up for regular season games against us. good for them. until they get a ring, they don't matter to me. the second they do; they have my attention.

Ehhh. I wouldn't go quite that far. I definitely think most prefer to win titles. However, yes, we'd like to see the team win these kinds of matchups even if its just the regular season. I think you set a tone by how you handle games in the regular season that carries over in the playoffs. If a team is a potential playoff opponent and a would be rival, then yeah, the team needs to go handle business. Especially when that team has clearly placed a target on your back and is very blatant and direct with their attacks against us. When my little brother got a little too disrespectful on the court, I used to have to tighten up and let him know the hierarchy lol. Same thing here for me.

Time to swat the fly period.

The Clippers get overrated every season. Kawhi is coming off an ACL injury, after load management on steroids in the previous season. George finds a way to stay hurt too, but they automatically get placed as contenders because Kawhi and George might be healthy? F the Clippers, I'll still take Lebron and AD over George and Leonard.
