meh. let someone else give up a lotto pick for a 34 yo who's not a defender. and a contender should, tbh. we're not that team.

ZERO chance I want Beal for 2 FRP. His contract is ridiculous. He would be injured all the time and people would be b****ing about giving up assets for him.

That's a good target list, you're just light on the pocket on assets. You're a pick short on Turner and with Collins, they want a 20-something starter to maximize the roster and I think draft compensation is second to them right now (they'll still want it, but it's not the priority). That's why there's been Kuz for Collins talks.

With Turner's injury history, if the Pacers really think that some team is giving up 2 FRP for him, they'll be watching him walk for free this summer. Kuz for Collins is a step back for Atlanta IMO, he'd be complaining about his shot attempts, a month after getting traded there.

1st and expirings was a plausible ask for him in the off- season when he was a gamble of health and play. The price can't and doesn't stay the same when he's having career numbers. Also the owner is anti-tanking. Does not believe it in. If you're moving Turner off his roster now, it's either going to be for return talent or blow his socks off with picks too good too turn down. Translation: Indy deal is dead.

Kuz for Collins might be a step back, but I think Kuz and Trae are closer to like minds. Collins and Trae do not get along. Hawks needs some wing size and versatility, think that's what they're going to move Collins for. They've talked to the Suns too. I'm sure Hawks asked about Bridges (obvious no), follow up ask regarding Cam Johnson + stuff, Suns likely countered with Crowder and Hawks hung up.

Myles has been shut down for the season two years in a row, before the playoffs started. 2 FRP for him would be a bad idea. The Pacers aren't going to make any noise with him, and he's not a superstar caliber player. They might overpay in order to keep him, but that's better than us giving up 2 FRP and overpaying him.

Kuz complained about shot attempts playing with Lebron and AD. Now he's going to be cool with even less in Atlanta? I don't see it happening, Young, Murray and Bogdanovic like to get them shots up too.

Not debating any of that. But am saying there is without a doubt a 0% chance we will get him this season for expirings and a first. Ship sailed.

Don't think it's a good fit or he ends up there. But that's the type of player Hawks are looking for. I'm sure they're talking to TOR about some of their wings too. I don't think taking Collins off their hands is doing them a favor. They have a lot of youth and don't think they value 1sts as high as others right now.

I’d take a minor deal for a guy like Saddiq Bey from Detroit. Can really score the basketball and would be a great alternative when Lebron’s off the floor.

think i posted a large-ish detroit idea a couple pages back that included bey, but that involved russ.

    upload_2022-12-19_7-51-10.png

that works, but they'd want a 1st, and i'd say no. 2nds ok though. bey has fallen off a bit. also, i think noel had a major falling out with klutch, so that would be weird.

    This works.

Also, Orlando has a front-court issue, and I think they're going to flip Bamba who isn't eligible to be traded for another month, but I think I consider a move there, too.

yeah, i'm not sure detroit goes for the above. it doesn't do much for them save for the 2nd rounders.

orlando clearly signed bamba to trade him, so again bev/nunn/2nds for bamba/ross works, but did orlando do all that to get some 2nds? couldn't they have swung that over the summer?

i feel like any bev/nunn deal needs to have some fairly unwanted salary for next year attached to it, right? either that or the team getting them has to have some use for bev. still feel like thibs could push his team to get bev. reddish/quickley for bev actually works under the cap and saves us some cash.

i don't know; i feel like there are enough possibilities that if we do nothing at all, i'll be pretty confused/disappointed. i really can't fathom wanting to go into next year's FA with 30 million in space. i don't think we want to.
