Ours is the tax paying MLE so there's also the 4G less than maybe other teams who have the Full one available.

They shot the same 35 percent from three as the Lakers and Raptors did in the Finals too.

Demar signing for the MLE would be shocking. The question is...how much cap we would have to sign him in 22? If Russ opted out and resigned at a lower contract/more years next season, it might free up some cash.

I guess in the finals, you actually play solid defenses that will run out on you at the 3 point line. Players that can shoot from 3 and take you off the dribble is much harder to guard. Durant added that element to the Warriors which made them practially impossible to stop.

We lost in the first round for two reasons:
    1a. Injuries
1b. we shot 29.9% from 3, on above average wide open frequency.

We don’t have to be a team of snipers, but we have to have competent 3 point shooters to get us to that 35% mark. Let’s not argue the extreme of either side.

AD and Lebron being hurt was way more of the reason than 3 point shooting.

It's ridiculous if we get DeMar for the MLE. I don't want it. It's not fair. Wouldn't like it if the Nets or Clippers do it, I'm done with this BS of pay cuts to get rings.
Looking with a basketball angle, of course you sign him. He is a star and nobody sane says no to that addition, regardless of the fit.

On other news, any chance to have a s&t between Schroder and Fournier? Would be freaking odd to do it with Boston, but they don't have a reliable PG and apparently Fournier is not re-signing with them. They also don't have cap space so they don't have many other options

I'd take Melo, I'm pretty sure that Chauncey doesn't want him.

It’s pretty hard to win missing that many open shots. There were plenty of games the past two years when AD and Lebron were heathy and we had off shooting nights and lost.

I’ll concede this though. The two points may be causal. The injuries to lebron and AD forced other players into unfamiliar roles, lineups, responsibilities, and rhythms…leading to the missed open shots. They were capable shooters who kept missing and missing. It was either a fluke or somewhat causal…

Not sure the point of this comment. If DD is interested in signing for the MLE, it’s stupid to walk away. If he’s looking for more, then all signs point to walking away because Rob doesn’t want to be hard capped by taking a player in in a S&T.

Consider this folks....if we got a TPE for Schroder, it doesn't count against the cap or tax apron.. we actually could accept Demar in a S&T.ALA Golden State after KD went to the Nets. The problem is who do we have to trade?

We could actually S&T Dennis to New York or Washington and only take the TPE back in exchange. If it's Washington we could use it to absorb Hield's first year salary. The tax bill including him would come in the following season. Same with DeRozan. Except we could keep Talen if we got Hield. Of course it depends on the Kings taking Kuz and Trez only, and the if of either team wanting Dennis for real.

Just watched some highlights on the undrafted kid Austin Reaves. He has a good overall clean offensive game. Impressive.
