With Russ, AC, and Bron eating up point guard minutes, I don't think that's a good use of our MLE. If you want PG insurance, I think you can get someone like Teague for the minimum.

Yeah. The MLE is our best chance at nabbing someone that can be an impact player. I'd hate to use it on someone who theoretically (if everything goes well this season) won't be needed much. If we are getting Melo and Gay on minimum contracts, then that MLE needs to be used on a big of some sort. A lot of talk about AD at the five this season, but I don't want him playing the 5 for 40 minutes a game.

I don't want to trade THT. But, if the right deal is available then I would consider it. I would much rather hold on to THT to learn under LBJ and WB. When LBJ is gone, THT could basically take over for him. THT is similar to both of them in terms of attacking the basket and having a mediocre three-point shot.

Well, he is a terrific shooter. Can he play in the backcourt with Wetbtook, or would they be too small? He could play in the same backcourt with AC, because of AC's size? But, for how many minutes? If Mills would take 5.9 though, I might just give it to him and run.

I've always been a fan of Melo, and while he isn't perfect by any means I would love to see him on this team. Gay is also a player that has been interesting for awhile. Basically if we went back like 5 years or so this whole offseason names would be awesome.

Keeping a close eye on the PG market because we need Schroder's options to dry up. Here's the latest from everything I've seen the past day or so....

    -CP3 staying
-Conley stays. $75m over 3 is the latest number floated. They shed Favors. Curious to see who else they dump.
-Mavs dumped Richardson so they can have the cash to join NO and MIA in the Lowry hunt.
    - Bulls are the favorites to get Ball.
    - Knicks want to be in position to be players in next summer's star studded free agency. So they could be open to a big 1 year deal, but they're not giving out large, long contracts this summer.

I don't think DS takes a 1 year deal cause he doesn't want to compete with next summer's FAs. Whoever doesn't get Lowry can look at him, but I don't think he'd get along with Luka. I don't think he helps New Orleans. Best fit based on the current Intel would probably be Miami. But does Riley really want to lose his flexibility for Dennis?

yeah, i don't see why the knicks do a big one-year to schroder. chicago's a possibility, but i don't think he's what they need. they need more of a floor general. lonzo isn't what they need, either, btw. i don't think that will work out well (lonzo should go to dallas, tbh).

i don't see why miami does it, either.

i've had dallas as a dark horse for a while. basically, it's the same idea we had except i think starting him won't be as big an issue there. i really think they're not going to get their top targets and will be scrambling to get a credible ballhandling guard. richardson's gone now, but they still have powell, kleber, finney-smith (would love to get, but they won't move him for schroder), cauley-stein (team option), brunson, and trey burke as guys that could give us some depth and salary ballast. my guess is they'd keep kleber and brunson.

if they want to keep hardaway, they may need to do some sort of s&t to fill out the roster, and their targets have all been pgs. dennis is the booby prize, and as khmr said, a deal could work wherein partial salary goes out and they use space for the rest.

Exactly, you can't be clueless on the cap and expect to not be scrambling 24/7.

we don't want to be you, either. your time's probably already done, and once curry's not a superstar anymore, you'll be back to being kings west.

What an a**. GSW got lucky that they were able to get some lottery picks while still keeping their stars because of injuries.
