I’m ok with them suffering. Not sending a life raft unless it’s super beneficial.

Couple things: according to Vinay, Pat is eligible to be traded October 25th.

He suggested: Bev and Nunn (2 seconds included) for Hield. Thoughts.

Also, keep an eye on the Bulls. They had a beatdown the other day from the Cavaliers. They are .500 without Zo last year. He isn't coming back until Dec/January.

They may be on the market for some change if they think they can't compete this year, IMO.

    Just some thoughts.

Would love to Westbrook for Myles and Hield: they're value is dropping as the season progresses (other teams become interested in salary dumps, Turner) hurt.

    Then move Nunn for Gay

    I like that trade.
    • Hield is the type of shooter we need.
    • Consolidates small guards on our roster.

I don't like Nunn for Buddy especially throwing Pat Bev in the deal. Buddy may have a little size on either of them but he isn't particularly known for playing D anyway. Certainly not on Bev's level.

Buddy is a bit more prolific from 3, than Nunn, taking 7.7 attempts compared to 5 and hitting .398 career (though he dipped down to a .366 career-worst last season) but Nunn has shown an ability to have similar accuracy shooting .381 in his last season and shot 41% in preseason he also hits from 2 for .534 compared to Buddy's .471 and shoots a higher FT% (.881 to .865).

The only negative is we may have no way to lock up Nunn for next year though we do have early bird rights which would allow us to offer him a 175% increase (9.2 million) if he would take that. Buddy has 1 year left after this for 19.28 million.

Nunn isn’t giving us much right now so I definitely wouldn’t be against trading him.

This is why Pat Riley let him go. Seems to be a tick in his head that checks himself out regularly.

If we could get a needed piece for him I wouldn’t be against it either. I do think he’s better than this though, and would probably benefit from a more defined role with Russ being gone.

Yeah. The team looks better without Russ for sure. I think we win today if we had left him on the bench and went with Walker/Reaves - Bev- Brown - LeBron and AD

This team has been much better defensively than last year. I wouldn't trade Pat. Nunn I would def trade.

Hit Indy now for Myles and Buddy while Myles value is low due to injury and will help Indy tank give them Russ+ 1 FRP (edit: top 5 protected) and 1 SRP for Turner/Hield and get this thing over with. Fair compromise from both sides, Indy gets some draft capital and they don't lose them both for nothing. And maybe more importantly, puts them strongly in the race for Wembanyama/Scoot once they buy out Westbrook.

I get what ur saying. In theory, we already have a version of Buddy on our roster on Nunn. Hield is just more proven though. Teams won't sag off of him. Hield has more experience as a two. He don't need the ball in his hands at all and he is constantly moving. I like Nunn don't get me wrong. I. Just think Hield would fit better with what we are trying to do

I'll take them both, backcourt of Hield, Schroeder, Nunn, Reaves, Beverly, Walker is a hell of a lot of PG/SG depth. Still don't like our large wing situation after Lebron.

And yes we could move a piece(s) like Beverly/Nunn for a big wing if it's worth it (i.e. not Gay, he's old as Methuselah). Big as in 6'6" 215lbs and up. We got bodies in that range just none with the needed skills.

Wait, you got Reaves, 195lb, 6'5" Reaves, slotted in as a Power Forward? And Troy Brown as our starting SF? Dude's like a 3rd stringer. What are you smokin' bro? LBJ is our SF who can play PF/C and AD is our PF/C. Reaves is a guard/small wing.

I’m trying to understand the “be patient, tanking teams will offer good players” angle. What are some hypotheticals?
