yeah, opening night is generally full of weird stuff like utah beating denver by 20. we'll see if that's just more oddity or a harbinger. same with the nets getting beat down. could be the nets are just lakers east, or maybe it was a flukey game.

i'm also a permanent zion health skeptic.

yeah, i saw some of that. he looked like young mcgrady out there or something! never seen him play like that, even in college.

Reddish looked great. I've been waiting for this. The way some of the young players talk about him is intriguing. Edwards and Zion always said he is a monster.

i've always been high on him. Thought he kind of got lost in the shuffle at Duke but still had a lot of talent.

Probably the Suns did the right thing in not trading a haul for KD, maybe they learned from the Lakers and Westbrick

I’m now wistfully thinking about our juggler knot title team. The joy of that team was apparent from the start, Kuz, KCP, Bald Eagle, Green, Javale, Dwight, Avery:dwightcrying:Every play was fantastic, the defense was top notch and playoff Rondo how can I forget

not sure. sounds like it's moot because bkn was never really serious about moving kd, but phx didn't look good to me last night. dallas outplayed them and just kind of choked and kidd made some poor lineup decisions. given how jacked up monty williams was about this game, you'd have expected phx to blast them in their home opener, and instead they kind of got lucky and squeaked one out. ayton looks like he'd rather be elsewhere; paul looks as old as he did in last year's playoffs. cam johnson isn't a starting pf, imo.

all this is to say that i think i'd have moved bridges/ayton/picks for kd without hesitation.

Cuffs complaining on Twitter after he liked our roster a couple of weeks ago, lol.

This will be soap opera central.

I knew that was coming. Lol. Its all part of the cycle. Everyone tries to convince themselves that the moves will somehow work despite the clear flaws. Reality sets in and the complaining starts.

We passed on what, Lowry, Caruso, Reddish, etc all based on a belief in THT. I know some of those are rumors and its early in the season but man. Yikes.

And Bogdanovic looks like exactly what we need right now. Someone fly to Utah and punch Ainge for me...lol

I was told 20 games was too small a sample size to determine anything...

Definitely a fun team and it was partly so because they had great camaraderie as well. Chemistry can be overrated (kobe/shaq) but it definitely doesn't hurt the players and makes the team easy to root for

Park of me wonders if Rob is betting on what the buyout market will be like.

For example, Lakers may have dodged a bullet with Irving not looking great but as a buyout very tasty.
Could see guys like Turner, the aforementioned Irving, Barnes, Seth Curry all could end up on teams going the wrong way

if russ plays somewhat well and the nets continue to suck, i wonder if they would revisit a russ for kyrie swap

we are screwed, this constantly rebuilding the team 80% every year is killing us. We got lucky ONCE, every other time we got what we deserved. Honestly, I pray that when Lebron retires, we go back to building a SOLID TEAM. Quit chasing stars, build from within, when we got it right, then try to bring in a star to edge it along. Rob just doesn't really have a great understanding of pieces that fit together, at least that is what it appears like.

rob just didn't want to give up multiple picks to move off russ. this makes perfect sense.

re: THT--most people didn't want to trade him for lowry (who honestly hasn't been much better than russ) at the time. the national press was breathlessly anticipating offers in the 4/80 range!

i think we'll look back and be glad we didn't move russ and 2 1sts for hield and turner.
