Is there still a sign and trade option that includes Hield coming here?

rudy's been quietly good in SA. he could play the kind of role we'll have for him.

probably would require three-way. trade DS for something that sac wants. still time to incorporate with westbrook trade, i think. but i doubt that happens.

Well, Washington just traded for Aaron Holiday, so I'm not sure if they would want Shroader. I would try to see if Washington would take Shroeder and the 2027 first in exchange for Bertains. Or, Bertans could be sent to Sacrament o for Hield, in a three-team trade. I guess we should try to get the best shooters possible for Shroeder and THT in sign and trades. But that all depends on Shroader, THT, and the teams that may want them.

So Melo and Gay fill some of the void. But we still will need a couple more legitimate bigs. Assuming Melo and Gay sign and we resign Caruso and THT we have:

    Gasol/?
    AD/?/Melo
    Lebron/Gay
    Caruso/THT/McKinnie
    Westbrook/?

Unless THT makes a huge leap in year three, we are paper thin. Would Dwight come back? Matthews?

schroder trade has to fill one or two holes.

after dallas strikes out lowry and lonzo, would they give us dwight powell and josh richardson for schroder?

I’m kind of hoping we still pull off the Hield trade with the Kings in a three team where Washington gets DS in S and T and Sac gets Kuz and Trez. We shall see.

Wes has already said he wants to come back so I think we can lock him down.

I'm assuming Matthews is likely to come back since nobody will pay him more than the minimum. I also think they'll use Schroeder in a S&T to shore up 1-2 spots. When it comes to vet ring chasers or guys looking to take the min and play their way into a big payday, we're at the top of the list. It's tough to accurately predict who we get right now, but I really don't think we'll have trouble getting guys to fill these spots.

The trade went against the recommendation of the analytics team (which happens from time to time in every organization, btw). But they are on board once FO explained it's easier to sign shooters with a third star.

The remark wasn't by the head of the team I don't think. But doesn't really matter. I just thought it was funny so I included :)

    Enjoy your weekend!

Lakers are likely going to have to slide AD to the 5 and Lebron to the 4, in order to make room for shooters. For example, they could sign Otto Porter with the 5.9 tax payer MLE, and start him at the 3. THe could also sign somebody like Danny Green or Tony Snell to the vet minimum and start him at the 2.

Theoretically, perhaps (I am not a cap expert). But currently Lakers and Kings FO are not talking about a trade. The Lakers used the Wizards to try to get the deal they wanted from the Kings, and were trying to save the #22 pick for a second trade. When the Kings didn't budge, they went forward with Westbrook. I posted the live timeline of events on an earlier page as I got word of what was happening, so you can check that out for some more details!!

Still working my way through the private messages, but thanks for all the kind words! I'll try to keep you all posted on what's next, but unfortunately as travel picks up it's unlikely I can break news ahead of the media like yesterday. The big deals are always easiest to call since they involve more external partners! Plus the draft night is always a distraction for reporters!

I do expect the signings to start rolling in quickly, so be on the lookout for those. In any case, I love the suggestions I'm reading on here for rounding out the roster. Great work by all, and I anticipate a thriller of a season ahead!!!

I'll check that out! Do you know if the Lakers are planning on starting AD at the 5? It seems like it would be easier to surround the big three with shooters that way.
