Russ’ injury wasn’t that serious. Everyone can rest easy tonight knowing he’ll be available tomorrow.

Uhhhhh. Now I’m not going to rest easy. It was going to be hard enough beating the Dubbs without accounting for all of Brick’s turnovers, bad shots, and missed defensive assignments. Now we have to pray he has one of his one-in-25 good games?

It’s okay, just wait until Troy Brown and Dennis get back. Then we will put the hurt on the entire League!!!

Denise will help, Troy is a key component of our unbelievably scrubby, noob core of wings.

Man, I never seen this board so pessimistic. It's sad that we are usually more excited during draft day/free agency/trade deadline. Everyone knows we are kind of a mess right now. I know it's hard to stay present lol. I think a trade will go down by Christmas.

I hate being pessimistic about the team I used to love, but Rob completely failed this summer, again. No chemistry because of a massive roster overhaul again. No real addition of shooters. Not enough depth at the wing. No real starting Center. It’s going to take several years to reverse all of the damage.
This is assuming he actually knows how to.
Well, not all is bad. At least Jeanie is happy and the Franchise is making money. Hey, we also can look forward to maybe having Bronny join his old man soon! Continued media attention and the show continues to sell a fun narrative! So exciting!

Mike Breen mentioned twice how the Lakers are all excited about Matt Ryan because he was 11/31 from three in the preseason. That is only 35%. Ryan actually does deserve minute's though because he is sadly one of the top shooters on the team. A 27 year old g leaguer. Just saying.

And they are starting Lonnie Walker, who is like a poor man's Westbrook. Think about what I just said: "A poor man's Westbrook". They are just bad.

Yeah. That shows you all you need to know about how well our shooting needs were met.

I am more and more getting the feeling that Rob got everyone's consensus that this season is yet another write-off, at least until the deadline. Rob can point to Westbrook (who was "everyone's mistake", including our 2 big stars) and deflect some of the blame there. Because I don't see Lebron or AD sh!tt!ng their pants as they both should be about this roster. There seems to be a "Things are what they are" type of attitude and we will see what happens with Russ, either during the season with a trade that gives us the bump we need to contend or next off-season when we do a reload when Lebron is 95 years old.

Yeah, this squad would need a Pau Gasol type impossible trade to somehow happen for them to magically turn into a contender.

Matt Ryan played 18 minutes. Those were the second highest minutes off the bench.

Disregarding the players who only played in garbage time, Ryan had a team high +/- of +1. Even though he only shot 1/4 from the field , 1/3 from three.

This isn’t even a knock on him… I think it was glaring that this team is so bad with reliable perimeter shooting, that we truly NEEDED someone like him on the floor. Otherwise the offense just clogs up. Because even though he wasn’t hitting too many shots, the way he moves off the ball to get open and his quick trigger at least give the illusion of a shooter that defenses have to respect.

And my takeaway from that isn’t “Yay, what a good pickup to get Matt Ryan”… the takeaway is that it’s starting to feel more and more like Buddy Hield and Myles Turner would be great fits for this team.

You know all teams have 25% from 3 nights, Golden State has 25% from 3 nights. The thing is we just had a 6 game preseason in which we shot 28.6%. Out of those 6 games we had 1 game in which we shot a respectable number from 3 and that was solely because Matt Ryan went off 6-9 that game. Matt Ryan, the hero who the team started making a big stink about trying to get us excited about the scrub they found. Well, just know what Ryan shot in other games from 3:
    1-4
    2-8
    0-3
    2-7
And tonight we snuck the sharpshooter in for 18 minutes so he could give us 1-3. Forget the 6-9 anomaly, the guy is 24% on all other games. So count on some good shooting 1 out of 6 games.

This team is screaming for some perimeter shooters. Rob better find somebody. Nunn and Lebron can't hold this team from 3.

I actually think Bronny would be one of the more talented guys on this team and that says a lot about what I think of the current roster.

Unfortunately the team is what I expected. We got younger but we lack shooting and defense and guys are being asked to do things consistently that we’ve never really seen them do.

Just not a very good roster right now.

No spacing. No shooting. Westbrook played fine last night, this isn’t on him. The supporting cast is trash. We need shooters, period. This was known before the preseason, evident during the preseason and it isn’t going away until we make changes.

Westbrook was far from the problem last night, but with the current roster construction the team just isn't good. Whether we give up too much in a trade or not, if we continue to run out this roster we are essentially waving white flag on this year.
