technically, either, but using the full MLE would probably make it impossible to keep either of AC or THT. so the taxpayer is all we should use.

i think most if not all of these guys are done (maybe not jones). tyson was done two years ago.

i like this list more, though danny green can simply go away with his non-shooting a**.

i think mills will cost more than the minimum.

    bradley may not.

dwight will, imo. can't see him taking another min.

my wish list will depend on what comes back for schroder, though. we're pretty free to move him for whatever we need to shore up the roster, in theory.

Who the heck is gonna defend wings? Our two primary wing defenders in KCP and Kuz just walked out the door.

i'd put westbrook on smaller wings (AC can take the pg then). against some bigger wings (like your kawhi types), i'd actually try AD.

but yeah, we need to flesh out the roster a bit, and wing defense is still an issue. i wish THT was better on that end.

Thanks for the insight. If we have the taxpayers MLE, I would use that on Otto Porter Jr. then to solve the “who would defend big wings” problem. Porter is still fairly young at 27, and is the definition of 3 and D.

Should have some more insight on what happened later today. Feel free to post & message any questions.

Whether or not you agree with the trade, it's clear the FO is in "win now" mode and will not stand by!!!

Interesting that as physically ready as he looks, with those skills and D attributes …. PLUS an @Alleyhoops thread of his own :giggle:  …. that he wasn’t drafted? And the Lakers scouts and FO seem to rank Ayayi and Reaves higher in signing them to the “2 ways” and not him.

Has the “leader of the analytics department” been fired yet for his snit and crack about Rob? You know they (FO) all lurk here …. right?

reaves doesn't look like an nba player to me. ayayi doesn't pop off the page, either. honestly, the dude with his own thread impressed me more in snippets.

I want Damian Jones back. I really liked what I saw from him as a lob threat, and shot blocker while on the Lakers and he should be cheap enough.

I do too Barns. I thought he fit really well. My first choice is Dwight but I’m not sure he comes back for vets min. We should check though, Philly is a mess.

You may be right, but Ayayi was mocked from late 1st to mid 2nd and Reaves was routinely mocked in the mid-2nd. Besides the FO trading/buying a 2nd round pick, they essentially hit a home run in terms of picking up undrafted scraps.

I think Ayayi’s ceiling is a 7-10 bench player, but he plays his role and knows his limitations. I literally only watched Reaves once, but in that game against Gonzaga, he was the most exciting player on the court and had me looking up where he was on mock drafts. Also read something about how he’s a better shooter than the numbers suggest. He shot a high % from 3 at Wichita St as a spot shooter and his numbers went down as he shot off the dribble in Oklahoma as the primary creator.

It can be forgiven that you forgot. He was called up late in the year from the G-League.

EDIT: From from that short stint, Weezy and I called the fact that he has "It" and could play major minutes. I just feel the need to bring this up that Weezy and I are the ones behind the wheel on the Caruso Bandwagon. So we get to pick the music.

yeah, can't explain it. every highlight from reaves was creating off the dribble in ways i'm almost certain he won't be able to in the pros. i don't think his skill level is enough to offset his lack of athleticism.

but you're right: both guys were ranked among the best undrafteds, and we get to take a look at both.

One of them will make the roster. There are only so many guys who will take a league minimum contract.

Gay shot 38% from 3 last year. Melo shot 40%

    I'll take both.
