yeah, i just think dallas's playoff run outpaced their team's abilities. it's really luka and...not a lot else. dude's a magician.

both portland and sac are teams that could surprise and jump ahead of us, imo. i'm just not expecting it currently.

i thought that last year, and then they were a top seed. we'll see. it's hard to believe that roster gets the results it does, but it's happened a couple times now, imo (the ascension started way back in the bubble, really).

Yeah, I was Memphis denier all last season and they ended up doing well. I think they will still be in the mix even if the come down a bit. Hard to see them not being at least in the 4-6 range particularly with how well they seemed to do in stretches without Morant.

Its still apples and oranges..the bulk of that team played together in the previous season. None of them missed the entire season like Nunn.
Again they made the play in game off the strength of the start of the season. We had a good record, when both guys were playing.
That team was terrible without both James and Davis playing too. Again we had to win 5 straight games to finish in the play in game. If James and Davis had played in 21 games that season, we wouldn't have made the playin game.It wasn't some kind of mirage .. LOL..We didn't do jack**** without both guys, but lose games and crow about our top defense while losing them. Stars are more important than the supporting cast.

Having a deep team that fit well, and had the number one ranked defense, didn't do s*** for us without James and Davis either as I recall. We were all convinced that AD hopping around on one leg, was enough to beat Phoenix. The rest of that great fitting roster was absolutely horrible in that series. Folks need to seriously check the supporting cast stats from that series.

you're still wrong. repeating it in every thread doesn't change anyone else's mind about it.

I don't really care with other people think. Repeating the same things back to me, doesn't change my opinion either. Lebron and AD played together in 52% of our games in 21. They played together in 25% of our games last season. That is the big difference between the two teams, the expected 4th best player in Nunn, didn't play at all. Somehow this is considered to be not that relevant. I disagree.

Because the main two guys only played together in half of that season. They played together in a quarter of the last one. I think that is some kind of big deal and was reflected in the record.

Meh..I'm not running for office or some kind of popularity contest. Obviously you are listening because you keep replying. 52% is better than 25%..I don't care what kind of math you try to use. I'll say this today...IF Lebron and AD play in the first 30 games this season, EVERYONE on this board will be singing a different tune about how bad this particular team will be. As currently constructed.

and how much did the clippers two stars play together last season?

how do you think they managed to win 9 more games than the lakers and make the play-in game despite kawhi missing the entire year and PG playing in only 31 games?

Lebron and AD are a better duo than Kawhi and George. The Clippers didn't make the playoffs. What accomplishment did they actually achieve?

There is soooo much BS out there. I watched one video that said the trade was going to happen on the 6th, almost certainly. Crickets.

so they're a better duo, yet the team that actually played without one of their stars the entire season and only had the other one for 31 games won 9 more games and made the play-in game. what did they achieve? they were a better team than the lakers

why do you think that is? tell me why the clippers finished with a better record. there is an obvious answer to this

Bro..half of our team from last year is still looking for work .It goes without saying that the Clippers had a better roster. Yet they didn't make the playoffs at all. The Clippers had a better roster in 20, but we got the ring.

The 21 Lakers team had a better roster too, and we still played sub 500 ball, without both Lebron and AD on the court.

Short answer..AD and Lebron were hurt, weak roster, and Vogel lost the team before the AllStar break.
