Yeah but it goes to show that when you disagree with people, don't get up all into their face, pointing fingers, etc etc. This is ONLY a damn game everyone. Give me a frigging break. Not nearly as important as my family and freedom. Hell, probably not as important as music and certainly not as important as a great bottle of liquor, be it wine or whiskey.

Because Hield and Turner aren't worth 2 FRP. Nobody in the league will touch that deal, only some in the media and some fans, think that's some kind of good deal for the Lakers. They'll still be available at the trade deadline, if Turner can stay healthy that long. And they won't require 2 FRP by that point.

Yeah but let's be real..all those guys were absolutely horrible against Phoenix in that series. They were all healthy and totally stunk up the joint. Not a single one of them, stepped up to the plate in that series period. It's easy to fall back on " But if AD and Lebron were on point, we could have done such and such"!

True..but if AD and Lebron were on point last season, we could say the same thing. It's still debatable if Rondo,Howard, Javale and Green were more important to getting that ring, than Caruso, KCP, Kuz and Morris. The last 4 looked terrible against Phoenix. The Suns had a bunch of guys that had never even been to the playoffs, our guys were defending Champions. You would have expected more from them.

Good article from Pincus explaining some of the details why we can help facilitate the Mitchell trade.

This is what he ends up concluding:

I wouldn’t be mad at that. Not the best deal we’ve theorized over the past few months, but one FRP to get off Westbrook and get 3 serviceable role players seems fair enough.

Fournier eating into cap room next year would hurt, so maybe we could get some protections on the pick or at least some second rounders coming our way.

Only problem is the team is maybe TOO deep. Feel like that would push all our FA signings to the end of the bench and not sure how they’d feel about that.

    Beverley / Nunn
    Reaves / Fournier / Walker
    James / Reddish / Brown
    Davis / Bogdanovic / Toscano-Anderson
    Bryant / Jones

Definitely not a championship favorite, probably wouldn’t even classify as a “contender”. But I think that could be a playoff team capable of making a splash, and at least it’s a roster I could see myself enjoy watching. I’d pay one pick for that.

So the two frps is just to get rid of Russ, and whatever serviceable players we get back should be considered gravy? It’s not even a valid starting point to an argument to say player x or y is or isn’t worth two ftps? If that’s true, we’re probably stuck with Russ. Imo, keeping Russ is just out of the question. Just punt the season. He’s that much of a negative impact. That’s why I reluctantly do the Indy deal.

russ/1st for fournier/bogdanovic/reddish is a win for me. satisfies all my requirements for a russ trade.

would be a bit concerned that the pg corps would be nunn and beverley, though. little thin there.

I'd be pleased with that deal for sure. Team can't be too deep with old Bron and (young) AD on it.

Punt the season? WTF are you talking about man? Lebron James and Anthony Davis aren't scrubs...this Russ take is utterly ridiculous.

Reaves can PG up if needed against at least 2nd stringers and is a hell of a passer. Would imagine his handles have improved over the off season.

I like that trade, gets us shooters/wings, only have to trade 1 first round pick. Also gives us contracts we can move like we had with KCP/Kuz/Trez, more flexibility. Don’t think it makes us contenders, but we’d be entertaining.

I overreacted, well aware of that, I'd do it again, apologies.

Three guys all the same size and play the same position. The same position Lebron plays...sounds good in theory but shooting is about all Bogdonavic and Fournier bring to the table. Reddish is young so that's works in his favor and 5 mill is a cheap contract. It would have to be Fournier or Bogdonavic...not both..not for a 1st rd pick included too.

That trade would be amazing. Brings in shooting and wing size/depth this team needed. Defense would be a big question mark though but thats much better team than last year.

“Punt” was a poor choice of words. I don’t mean that they should give up and tank. I meant that we should probably “punt” hopes of being a contender with Russ. I give us a 1% chance. With Hield and Turner I give us a 25% chance.

more movable parts that can be part of another trade with our 1st round pick to truly leave the cupboard bare for future generations of Laker fans lol.

But seriously? 3 serviceable players, addition by subtraction in some fans eyes, and 1 draft pick? Seems pretty doable if he is truly a net negative. Not 100% convinced it's true, but that trade makes me not regret taking the chance on a move.

Well, it seems most of us are on the same page here, which is refreshing when it comes to a prospect of a big trade. Give us some solid depth... forget the star names and let's just move on! I want to wake up tomorrow and see Russ thread moved to NBA Discussion.

Got you..I can respect that...I just hate the very idea, that all is lost before the season even starts.

Ok..look this is off the beaten path here a bit.. but how about Miles Bridges in a sign and trade with maybe PJ Washington and Oubre. I'd go 25ish for Bridges.

I am totally aware of his legal situation but, those things have a way of being pleaded down to lesser charges in most cases. Not touching the particulars of that situation at all here though.

    These trades are AD centered.
Rozier and Bridges are well worth Russ and two unprotected draft picks IMO..too.

At least 1 heavily protected pick in the first scenario.

Maybe expand it to a 4 team mega deal with Utah and New York, ending up with Julius landing in Charlotte and Hayward going to the Knicks or back to Utah.
