I didn’t realize Reddish was Klutch.

I still don’t get the sense that’s the reason for our continued interest in him. If you’ll recall, it was Klutch client THT who we were rumored to be sending out for Reddish at the deadline.

He’s 22 years old, 6’8”, 218 pounds, 7’ 1” wingspan, a lottery pick 3 years ago. He was a top recruit coming out of high school but had to defer to Zion and Barrett at Duke, came into situations in the NBA where he hasn’t had a real shot.

My guess is our basketball ops/scouting department has identified him as a low risk/high reward wing that could be had for relatively cheap. And I trust that side of our organization, which is why I’ve been on board with acquiring him.

Reddish is not a bad prospect. I wouldn't complain if Klutch steered him our way in some fashion.

He is taller, longer, more athletic, more skilled, and a much better shooter than Stanley (who fans loved). So, I don't understand why fans would not understand why the Lakers would want him. He is a big wing, and we could potentially get him as a "throw in" to make the Mitchell trade work.

Well I could understand why someone may not be too excited about the NY/Utah package depending on the draft compensation we’d have to give up, but yeah in a vacuum I think Reddish would be a nice prospect to have.

From what I’ve read, he actually looks to be a very good on-ball defender, but pretty bad off-ball. So he’s a raw prospect, but I’d hope the fact that he can play well on-ball means he has the willingness and potential to become a good all around defender eventually.

    stan's a 3/4 (and on some occasions, 5, tbh). reddish is a 2/3.

and people liked stan because he was cost-controlled, too, imo. vet min with early bird rights. cam would come with full bird but a big hold, and a salary substantially over his current on-court value.

THT and reddish are similar cases, imo. each might be a solid nba player for a decade. each is paid like they are right now and are not.

Reddish can play 4. He's 6-8 with large wing span. Reddish is clearly different. Reddish can play 2/3/4, is 4 inches taller, is a significantly better shooter and defender. Reddish fits a need. THT did not fit a need.

I’ve liked Reddish For awhile so I’d be good with getting him. Feel like he’s worth a shot even more since we gave Stanley to Utah.

I was just joking around guys, it’s deep into the off-season, we need humor. I know we have interest in Reddish as a player, I just find it funny that the only way Rob seems to be able to get deals done is to overpay or trade for Klutch clients.

If I'm not mistaken, we have no more trade assets apart from Russ right?

I mean we do have Nunn, but is there anyone else? Maybe Gabriel?
It's very odd we did the Bev trade without a Russ trade lined up

Even to trade Russ we may need an extra player or two for salary matching or to balance the roster if we get more players, considering we will definitely need to get 2 to match Russ salary, if not 3 or 4

I'm starting to accommodate the idea Russ is staying for the start of the season. I hate it

We have Nunn and Lonnie then a bunch of smaller deals 2 mil and below and would personally hold Nunn as untradable. He is our Monk this year. Lonnie is sh!t and can go out with the trash.

Our FA signings can't be traded for a while no? That's where I was getting at, which means we have little to no flexibility at the moment if we are not moving Russ

Ahhh we have Reaves too...oh god...

    As for Nunn:
If he's recovered, he's untradable for me. Fits LeBron and the team perfectly and can definitely outperform his contract
If he's not well, would any team trade for him? Just for a 5M expiring without picks? Seems like a reach to get such a deal

In the end, I don't see how he's traded unless it's in a Russ package

Yeah I forgot we are stuck with Lonnie until I think December

I think I like every single scrub we have better than Lonnie.

He has 0 minutes as a Laker.
I would say is better to let the man play before calling him a scrub, right mate?

Well I don't know if you have seen him play, but I have and I can call him whatever the hell I want.

As such, he is the worst-looking MLE prospect I can remember. Guy's shooting 40%FG and 31% from 3. Simply doesn't have NBA size at wing. Literally, no stat to get mildly excited about, Undersize wing is exactly what we don't need, he will get pounded by the Kawhis and Georges, Butlers etc etc when we slide him to cover wing, which we will. Dude can jump and he gets off the occasional circus shot but he's been trying to develop 3-4 years or whatever. Not engaged at D off the ball, gets lost on the offensive plans easily. He is a risk big time with our MLE and I do not feel it's money well spent for THIS team's needs.
