Naw, Russ is THE heel for the Lakers right now.

So wanting Russ gone by any means is the face position for the fanbase.

A heel turn would be if someone was previously on board with trading Russ but then suddenly wants to run it back and give him another chance.

Russ during opening night starting lineup introductions:

Rob doesn’t have the brains nor balls to pull this off. Maybe if Kobe were around to map it all out for him, he could pull it off.

I predict he will be our best player this year. If not most available.

I don't see a deal to be had unless it's a deadline deal, but as constructed, it's unlikely we make any noise in the playoffs.

But with Pat Bev, you just never know.....

I actually think she's very savvy, but has taken the approach of being "Mother Hen" to her team and players vs hardcore business executive. It's a balancing act, but it does seem to be more in line with who she is. She will never haver her own children. The Lakers are her baby. They are her family. She's trying to run a family business in a rapidly changing business environment that makes it near impossible.

She very sensitive to her players' feelings and what they are going through. How many team owners are offering waiting hugs to players struggling with grief? Doesn't happen. We can certainly argue about her effectiveness, but not about her caring.

But during her watch, she has given her brother enough rope to hang himself, fired him, and moved on and won a championship. She has done the job better than most other franchises in their entire history, and I have no doubt she cares enough to make whatever changes are necessary to keep that trend going.

Well, if we aren't moving him, we have to find a way to incorporate him and hide his shortcomings. It's an interesting move, and maybe Ham is the one to pull this off. We'll see. I've always thought of Russ as more of a SG myself. If he wasn't ball handling, but stayed in attack mode, how would he be different as a player?

He hasn't shown he can adjust his game yet, but if he did.....I still think we could see some good things from him. But I think he still wants to be the guy who puts up triple doubles and is willing to forego winning to do so. Still probably our best/most available star this year.

you mean like what vogel and dantoni both asked him to do? he just can't/won't play off ball. beverley will, though, so yes, they can play together. and simply inserting beverley into the starting lineup may indeed cut down on the utter lack of effort from our stars due to the shame factor.

and if they have indeed spoken and are ok playing with each other, that's a major surprise to me and a harbinger that we're really going to open the season with russ.

i'm still on team "we shouldn't do that".

I'm not insulting her (at least not on purpose lol).

I think she's lacking with how things work now specifically with social media. My thoughts include some of her direct tweets as well.

A shooting guard who can't shoot.

No, he is a square peg being put in a round hole with this team and Ham is going to be the next in a long line of peeps who have to face the music and realize this....

There is no "fixing" or "incorporating" Russell freaking Westbrook...

I think she's at peace with her approach. We'll see how well it works long term. In the meantime, she was able to resign James Lebron, so it must not all be totally terrible over there.

If I signed with Klutch sports, the Lakers would be interested in signing me for the MLE.
