For the love of god, everyone please stop saying we are going to give up Reaves. First AC, then THT and now we are talking Reaves…I’m hanging on by a string here.

He didn't create the mess. It was LeBron and it baffles me how people can be so naive to think otherwise with all the historical evidence we have

I also would like to understand why you think we lost all trades. Can you back that?

Then, of course this roster was made without Russ. I thought at this time we were already clear that Russ is the worst fit to LeBron. We are, cleverly, playing the "Ham has a plan for Russ" because it's the only wait to play it, but he will be moved as soon as we can.

He also didn't cave to LeBron on the trade deadline which proved to be an extremely smart decision considering how our season ended, but he gets no rep for that.

He's also, based on the available reports, not being fleeced by Indy or Nets regarding the assets that go along with Russ which will be important for our future.

I said this before, but apart of Lonnie Walker I honestly don't see how could we have a better offseason. We signed at least 3 straight big improvements to our squad in must needed positions with JTA, Jones and Bryant with the vet min! We also gambled on Troy who, if it plays out, can be exactly what this team needs.

We haven't re-signed with all the scrubs we had last year, which totally resembles a LeGM team based on his previous tenures in Miami and Cleveland.

And this is just this year, without going back to when we got two 6th man of the year in a single offseason and that post-chip squad who I'm pretty sure everyone in this forum was hyped about.

But yeah, he's this year scapegoat. People just don't learn...

Everyone around here talks about the Lakers tax and how none of the other teams deal with us fairly, yet if we do not make the deal we want everyone fired. It is a no win situation for our FO, entitled fans who just don't understand the "real" nature of the business. They want their cake and be able to eat it too. ????? Which way is it?

So I’m naive? Ok. Of course LeBron wanted Russ when it was presented to him, your job as GM is to say no to players when they have bad ideas. To make the best moves for the good of the team, not to appease your whiny star. So yes, it’s Rob’s fault. Letting your stars have all the power and giving them every single thing they want is why we and Brooklyn are both a friggin mess and have had a revolving door of washed up former stars. Miami worked with LeBron and 2 other stars, in large part because of Pat Riley who didn’t bow down and do whatever he was asked, and he didn’t add a piece that was such a horrible fit it tanked the whole thing. Kobe wanted stupid trades, then to be traded himself, Dr Buss and co said no, we were better for it, you don’t listen to your whiny star.

Yet, Rob was the first person since maybe Riley (?) to say no to LeBron and you still blame him.

Guys has been running the league for years and doing overhauls in every team.
Came to a broken LA team who missed the playoffs for 7(?) years straight.
    Got us AD through Klutch

And you think this is just some regular player that you say no? So many GMs, coaches, OWNERS didn't do it before. So yes, you're pretty naive. You even compare it to Durant so it even seems you're really unaware of what this situation entails
Yet, Pelinka finally stopped this madness and managed to keep some assets a few months ago, after that mess and you're still blaming him.

I think you don't really understand how things are done at this level and the amount of politics involved to pull it off.

I’m not sure I buy that Mitchell to NY is actually dead. I felt the prior reporting was suggesting that Utah didn’t really want Barrett. Or maybe I just interposed by own thoughts on the situation, because if I was in Utah’s shoes I really wouldn’t want Barrett.

My sense is Ainge was playing hard ball and demanding Barrett in addition to all the picks he wanted, not because he really valued him, but just because he wanted to win the trade.

So NY signs him to an extension to force Utah to come back to the table and be more reasonable.

There is no drawing board anymore. It's over. Lakers have one last move to save themselves and that's John Walling Westbrook when the season starts.

Or, making a really bad deal.

    I need some hope.

Any cap experts out there that can theorize if RJ’s extension and the poison pill provision somehow make it more likely that Utah/NY would need our help to facilitate a deal?

Damn paying a 20/5/3 guy 30 mil per is a weak consolation prize. As much as I complain at least we aren’t the Knicks. Paying Randle, Fournier and Barrett these deals, the all mediocre team.
