Rob is like that family member who plays it cool because the matriarch or patriarch are still alive. The moment they pass, the real person materializes.

Without trying to make this a joke again, his press conference when the Lakers signed KCP, the amount of hyperbole and BS that came out of his mouth was the first signal that this guy has an aura of fakeness too him. Magic saying he backstabbed him. His inability to handle the pressure of the job with terrible transactions. It's all unraveling. No leadership because everyone in the management positions are not real leaders. They are push overs and fakes. Jeanie included to some degree.

Why this talk? We did great in FA this season.
This Beverley trade can't be read in isolation. Until we understand what's the move with Russ, it's pointless to read it.

So I don't get all the drama

Some people here like to play armchair psychologists and broad brush their life experiences on to other people while those here with the real formal training you’re not going to hear that from them.

I think there’s a very good chance we fail to trade Russ and end up trying to have him and Bev playing the same role.

Honestly, the two firsts is an overpay for Hield and Turner. Throwing in Nunn, Reaves, etc is nuts.

Yep. We may not do anything until December onwards...

    Oh, well.

Isolated, a lot of the signing are good ones. Together when you start putting together a depth chart, it's downright ugly, incomplete, full of holes and not a playoff team.

    If you believe that....

I do believe the 2 firsts (what's been reported)

    Don't believe the other stuff.

Depends on what Nunn's knee can handle and Duarte is the real deal (don't think they trade him). Indy gives us the best return regardless of what we give up. This is far from what I want to give up or think we should...Rob is going to get worked regardless though. I have more faith in that package than the unknown of a Jazz deal or Jazz + Knicks deal.

If healthy Turner is worth multiple firsts.

Rob was never looked at as a CBA guy he was a damn agent and that fact was well known. It was discussed who he would get to help him with the CBA. Agents don't care about anything other than a rudimentary knowledge of the CBA. Rob and Magic went to New York to study the CBA with Adam Silver for a short time too, a weekend or a week or something like that. The CBA guys are like Tim Harris and some interns but Rob has come along and poured himself into it. You don't have to be crazy knowledgeable, what you need is battle boards and trained-on-CBA interns around who say you can or can't do that and here is why.

Yeah. I take all the various reports and rumors with a grain of salt.

I can see Rob doing a deal like that though.

Time to get to the realization the Lakers will not be making another deal and this current roster will be what they go into, with a small chance they make maybe a smaller deal for a Nunn or something like that.

No he is not. Myles is a career 12 pts 7 reb that is not worth multiple firsts. And I like Myles Turner.

I know I’m in the minority, but I’d still revisit the Randle trade. At least we won’t be forced to part with too many assets.
