On paper, when 3 HOFs the talent of AD, Lebron and Westbrook should play better having spent more time together. But I'm not sure if they complement each other enough at a high effective rate to be a championship contender. I do see them being better with a new coach and a renewed attitude

Eh, I thought it was funny. The music in these types of videos is always hilarious to me. If I can laugh at videos like this at Westbrook’s expense, I can do the same for THT. Dudes a multi-millionaire at 21.

Look I like THT and wish him well, and I know you can probably make a video like this for any player cherry picking their lowlights. I do think he’ll be better in Utah.

But I’m still kind of baffled at the outrage at trading THT and the alarmist idea that he’s actually on the verge of breaking out into a star or something. Yes he has potential, but he’s a long ways away from leveraging that into being an actual quality NBA player. There are a lot of legitimate flaws in his game, and it is completely within the realm of possibility that he NEVER pans out and fizzles out of the league in a few years. I don’t necessarily think that’s what happens, but I think it’s more likely than him becoming a star or MIP candidate.

I just think the outrage at trading THT is an emotional reaction due to personal dislike of Beverley and frustration over previous moves, rather than an honest assessment of the actual on-court promise he’s demonstrated.

i respect your opinion. But I disagree. THT has shown the offensive ability and arsenal unlike we’ve really seen on the lakers in quite some time. He has a crazy wingspan to boot. Although he ain’t the tallest guy, his athleticism is off the charts. He can also dish it despite the tunnel vision comments. This one will truly be one of the biggest mistakes of a lakers front office, or any front office. Salaries yeah.. but we just threw in Stanley..

THT was a steal based on where we drafted him and I know he will probably produce at least 20/5/5 in utah.

he will become an AS within 1-3 years. I see him being on a lavine level, just obviously can’t dunk as good, but good enough for his height.

I’m truly in the camp that we’ve let go of a star here.

Even if he doesn’t mesh with WB, he can come off the bench and lead. He has scored 20, 30 points in a game how many times and clearly is an alpha. I’m utterly disgusted by this trade. I can’t believe Rob did this.

I’m certainly not crying THT is gone. I’m crying we chose him over Alex Caruso and Kyle Lowry.

THT needs to be a lead ball handler to be good. Is it possible he develops his off the ball game over his career? Absolutely, but our focus needs to be on winning in the next 2 seasons.

And if THT is handling the ball a significant amount on your team, you’re probably going to be a s**t team.

Obviously THT has been wildly inconsistent. Some of that is on him and some of that is on how Vogel used him.

I would have kept THT and signed Shroeder to a Vet Min. Start Shroeder, and make THT the backup PG. Play him when you can put the ball in his hands. I know it’s only one game, but the final game last year against GS THT went off for 40. LeBron and Westbrook both sat. THT had the ball. He showed what he is capable of doing.

But I’m already over it. It was short term thinking on Rob’s part. I get it. One last swing for the fences for these next two years of LeBron’s closing window. I just don’t like it any more than I liked losing Caruso.

THIS IS THE REASON. Our stupid GM is too short sighted to realize this.

If we had the time, like with a group that is growing together over a 5-year period, THT is absolutely worth waiting it out. When do the Lakers ever have that though? Too many questions for the immediate future though, is that jumper ever gonna pan out? Can he catch and shoot? I'd was intrigued in his defensive potential, a guy like him @ 240lb can switch on 1-4 if he'll play D. Vogel tried to get some out of him, he was never reliable and focused enough on both ends to stay out there long though.

I’ll pick a nit here with the statement in the middle that THT’s athleticism is “off the charts”. Sure didn’t seem like he jumped out of the gym to me. At 6’4” with those freak long arms he never seemed to get the ball waaay above the rim on his dunks. And not particularly a speedster.

He is strong and has long arms, but isn't super athletic. I mean, he uses the "Dirk fadeaway" for some reason, being young and 6-4, that does not make a lot of sense to me.

i don't think THT will be an allstar, but i think he'll have more net value over the next three years than beverley. hell, stan might. we need to be thinking past lebron, and we aren't, and that's a problem.

Yeah I commented this year he actually in that usual situation, in place of the Dirk one legged fadeaway went up real nice and shot a short range J fully extended after juking his defender. Like Duh. Why is that taking so long to be incorporated into his game? Wish him super well though.

THT will probably have a JC like career. If Mitchell gets traded he’ll get a lot of needed burn to develop that he wasn’t going to get here. We’ve never really been good at developing and contending at the same time, hopefully that changes with this new coaching staff and starts with Christie.

I do hope we start being smarter with our second round/undrafted picks and their contracts. Keep them on rookie scale for longer instead of having to overpay them early and then end up mismanaging

I think it's fair to say any and all young talented players that have a ceiling beyond role player all have their professional growth stunted if they play with LeGM. it's a certified fact backed by multiple studies.

    :Fishwink:

I think we have seen flashes from THT and see what he may be capable of, and his peak is so far beyond Beverly (No Extra E dammit), it's not really that debatable. Throwing in a Stanley to make the money work was all robbery from a talent standpoint, but in reality, it may be a better fit for this year.

But the cupboard is getting bare fellas. We all knew it was coming. Don't have to like it one bit.
