I hated last season's team. Just as a group of guys, they were my least favorite group in history. If we stand relatively pat (no pun intended) and add Beverly, the season is over before it starts for me. Can't see myself watching the Lakers for the entire year. I don't care if they were in the Finals. I know it's about the front of the jersey and not the back, but when the back is so putrid, and play a type of basketball (flopping, iso, whining, b****ing) that makes my skin crawl, I'll just watch Liverpool and the Kings (LA obviously).

The thing is Turner doesn't fit our roster construction and Ham strategy. First we burn Jones/Bryant because we would have 4 guys to play center. It could be ok with AD/Turner injured, but if AD is unhealthy, it doesn't matter who else we have on the court. Then Ham wants to play 4-out, which would be a struggle with AD/Turner.
Then, we would be extremely light in the guard position. And Hield is a bad contract imo.

At this point I wouldn't do it. Prefer to wait for Utah or even the season start
Beverley will be a fun favourite by Xmas

Rob has his work cut out for him now for sure. Kyrie and Curry or Harris or both would have been the home run move and signaled contention. Anything else now is going to be a consolation prize most likely. I like Hield and Turner for one pick not two. You’ve got to save one more pick for a further sweetener with THT to get a good sized 3 and D wing.

So far a trade with Utah sounds better to me but of course then we have to deal with Ainge. Maybe get in with the Knicks in a three way as mentioned here many times. It seems like that is our best opportunity to fill out the roster with what we need.

agree that turner made more sense before we signed two centers, but really, they're vet min centers who already sort of don't fit the 4-out philosophy (turner's probably the best shooter of the bunch, tbh).

sign schroder; and you have nunn. plus THT and lebron are still capable playmakers in case of injury.

hield's only got one year after this. he's only a bad contract if you planned on having space next summer, which lebron's extension says we don't.

i prefer utah theories, but we have reports that this deal was actually on the table at some point, whereas we don't really have anything like that from utah.

A real threat? LOL! People need to relax on the Nets hype. They look good on paper, but this team has SERIOUS chemistry issues and hasn’t proved a damn thing yet.

nets would've easily won it all in '21 if kyrie doesn't get injured. now they're worse on paper and have two disgruntled stars who don't want to be there. they're not better than the bucks or C Bags and who knows how their season will play out with those two wanting out

i'm with svtzr: nets and clippers are the clear favorites as things stand now. obviously, injuries loom HUGE over those two teams (as much as they do us, imo!)

i expect simmons to return to form and fit in perfectly next to kd and kryie. the only place they aren't at least two-deep with quality players is center, and they have two of the most feared scorers in the game.

as far as chemistry--weren't kd and kyrie's issues with management/coaches? that's easier to work with, i think.

i really didn't expect them to even get this far (getting both kd AND kyrie to settle down), so they're playing with house money now.

Yeah they're vet mins, but I think they're an excellent combo. Turner is definitely better and his pairing looks great with AD, but I don't feel it solves any of the still several problems of the roster. Hield does though, with the shooting

Yeah I can bite Hield's contract. But it means you can't sign anyone next year again, just vet mins and exceptions because of him.

I think it's Bryant who falls from the rotation in that scenario.

    Nunn | Schroder | THT
    Reaves | Hield | Lonnie
    LeBron | Stan | Troy
    AD | JTA
    Turner | Jones

It's better but I don't know, I don't see it. I don't think we are strong enough to contend and we get stuck at least the next 2 years in this model

With Conley and Bogdan I think we are contenders and it's worthy to pull the trigger on the trade. The Indy trade I think it could pay off to wait, especially if they burn us with the 2 picks

Best thing about Turner is that paired with AD is scary + each one covers other's injuries

As long as GSW is still together and healthy no other team is a "clear" favorite. Can't beat experience.

i think they're the team most likely to get hit with injuries, actually. just age and grind. but yeah, if they have great health luck, they're on par with the other two.

And going forward isn't that highlighted part great if we can keep Turner? Plus we find all kinds of ways to be a BIG team or a BIG Small Ball team again like in 2020. If our coaching staff can up the play of everyone on D, as they're reputation says they can do, then that also gives the chance of Swider bringing his good size and great quick release and shooting in occasionally by later in the season, if he too learns how to improve while not having the best athleticism.

…well hopefully this means Nunn will play. I won’t speculate on a certain name not being mentioned

LOL … why not as that’s a pretty telling omission. How could she possibly be excited about Brick after watching his sorry season last year.

I have it on good authority that she figures you have enough excitement to cover her expectations!!

don't you know it! The only Batman on the team. So underappreciated. Best player we got. And the only one likely to play more than 60 games as a starter smh

    Regarding Turner's injuries

If he's healthy, I would rather have him than Gobert. Hot take: I think he's better all around and not nearly as limited of a big. Gobert went for 47 picks and a few players.

Turner is on an expiring, but has expressed interest in LA before. I'm leaning towards the belief we've discussed an extension with him before his plane from Indy touches down at LAX.

Yes, our C rotation is probably the position we did the best job of addressing during the summer. But those are minimum signings and if Bryant returns to form then he'll Monk it next summer. If you have a chance to add someone of Turner's level you do so and don't let any vet min contract get in the way.
