Westbrook, Reaves, THT, Nunn, 2027 1st, 2029 1st and 2031 1st to Utah for Mitchell, Conley and Beasley.

Makes us kind small in the back court, but you would think Lakers need to take back Utah unfavorable salaries of Conley/Beasley instead of expirings like Bogdonovic/Beverly?

    PF-Davis/Johnson/Swider
    SF-James/JTA/Brown
    C-Bryant/Jones/Huff
    PG-Conley/Shroeder
    SG-Mitchell/Beasley/Walker

I think this sh*t is over. If KD stays in Brooklyn, my guess is they find a way to resign Kyrie.

Lakers have an opportunity to add some much needed three point shooting. As we know, corner three point shooters do particularly well with Lebron. Here are some stats on some of the high volume three point shooters that could be available:

player % from corner % of attempts from corner

    Bojan 44.6 33.3
    Beasley 42.3 26.1
    Fournier 44.4 20.0
    Hield 47.5 16.4

Here are stats for some of the moderate volume shooters:

player % from corner % of attempts from corner

    Beverly 40.0 32.8
    Conley 42.8 17.6
    Clarkson 34.0 18.4
    Turner 32.4 18.6
    Bryant 29.0 11.1
    Walker 36.2 18.4
    JTA 31.0 28.7
    Brown 37.3 38.1
    Shroeder 35.9 10.8

I put new Laker signings in there for comparison's sake.

I don't think I could possibly despise a player more than I do KD, Thats' saying a lot too because I really don't let personal thoughts like this get in the way of NBA fandom.

    "I'm leaving"
"Wait, ok, I'll stay but only if you fire everyone to show how like, seriously mad I just was...ok?"
"All right I'll stay as is but you got my point right? I'm Kevin Freakin' Durant"

What this turd has just put the NBA through is disgusting. I am sure Ben Simmons will end up in a psych ward this season.

    Three team deal:

Lakers get: Bogdonovic, Beasley, Rose, Beverly and Reddish

    Utah gets: WB, THT, Toppin, Grimes, 2023 Knicks 1st, 2025 Knicks 1st, 2027 Knicks 1st, 2029 Knicks 1st and 2027 Lakers 1st

Knicks get: Mitchell, Gabrial and Johnson

Lakers essentially get all expirings, which they seem to want. Not sure were Rose fits on that depth chart, but he had to be included for salary purposes,

Better off just not making any trades and sending WB home. Tired of these lousy trades.

I guess the League is going to have to adjust the TV schedule again. It is hard to see them passing up on the opportunity to showcase the Nets and their drama in more games. Dysfunction sells...

gotta disagree here. it's five guys who were either individually better than russ last year or at least better than half of our playing rotation, and no salary commitments beyond this year. it would be sort of a home run. we'd maintain the ability to add longer term salary in the form of better players if things went poorly, too.

i'm actually tired of star chasing. we have two stars. we don't need three. we need 6-7 more guys that aren't going to be literally out of basketball in 9 months.

Folks, I'm still gathering information here, but so far it looks like pressure from the league office was too strong, and lowball offers from other teams made making a deal impossible. Durant and the Nets FO have been on the same page about this the entire time, which is how they "reconciled" so quickly. I would say this is the closest to a CP3 "veto" situation we'd had since that day itself.

Thinking on the LAL side is that they may hold Westbrook closer to the deadline, in hopes that the expiring contract is valuable to tanking teams. They are still looking aggressively for suitors and will continue to do so, but no all-star level talent that biz/marketing ops needs to prepare for. Worst case scenario is that Irving signs a deal this summer, maybe even convincing LeBron to opt in if things go well.

Ehh, im not a fan either. But he is only a small part of that trade. Lakers get Bojan/ Beasley/ Rose/ Reddish too. Also addition by subtraction with WB. Besides, once he puts on the Lakers uniform I dont care about the previous bs. Bev's skills on defense and shooting (particularly fron the corner) could help.

This is great news. Teams can actually make realistic trades now. Glad it's over.

Get someone from the Jazz or Knicks on the phone. Hopefully both. I know there are reasonable deals out there for everyone.

Yeah I can’t stand Pat Bev but I like the rest of that trade a lot, so I could live with it.

Lakers may have no commitment beyond next season except: they throw away a FRP

Right now we have no commitment beyond next year and we don't burn a FRP. Unless this move gets them a championship Which I doubt it will, might as well just play with Russ. Let Darv have a shot, see if Frank actually was bad.
