his defense slipped a bit last year, and i'd be suspicious of anyone the nets want to drop given their depth issues.

Kuz and the first round pick for Ingles? NO. Straight up OK. No pick involved though.

    Not a fan?

I actually think he’d fit well on the team.

I’m not a big fan either but I suppose it largely depends on how we acquired him at this point.

Appreciate the depth and context, but that’s still a lot of hopeful conjecture.

There are still other guys I prefer but I will admit i am coming around to Hield.

I also feel like there’s no turning back with trading Kuz at this point.

I can't take this Buddy Hield rumor seriously. He's not that good and his contract is awful.

I’m not sure who everyone is expecting to get with our assets. The names we are seeing sound pretty believable to me based on who we are trading.

His former agent seems to be a fan

I don't hate the Hield idea, but that's last resort for me. I think he'd fit better with our duo than Kuz, but that's about it.

I actually like Kuz but he’s had plenty of chances to step into the role of our consistent third option and it just hasn’t happened. I’m fine with the team moving on.

I know a lot of folks have been requesting Lakers updates, so even though I'm not around I made a few calls...

Despite the big headlines, it's been pretty standard & quiet as far as I can tell. The Lakers have offered THT/KCP/Kuzma to a number of teams, but as expected, are not getting much that they like in return. Kuzma in particular is yielding very little, as a wing who doesn't play solid defense and can't hit the 3 ball consistently is not what GMs are willing to part with assets for. Currently, they're playing a bit of poker to see how other team position themselves leading up to the draft: Washington is still trying to figure out what's going on with Beal, and you already have my updates on Philly (and NYK). The media reports from today on Simmons are just echoing what I got from my meetings last week.

It's either the above, or a major move is brewing that they are keeping extremely quiet (which is less likely, but has happened before).

Please be patient! The Lakers are doing everything possible to get back into contention. But in this business, you never want to appear desperate!!!

Unless the 3rd guy is a legit star, anything else is a lateral move. There are non-stars that would work, but those guys are gonna get massive contracts. And that's that.

Says we have stepped up our efforts as we get closer to the draft, now including the number 22 pick. Personally I liked the Hield idea, but including it with Kuz or KCP & Harrell for Hield seems a bit much.

If that is the up to date package, here's what I think the plan was...
-Move Kuz/KCP + Trezz for Buddy
-Move the other + pick for another vet or to move up the draft board.

Only reason it makes sense to separate them out.

But if this is Rob's play, I'm very curious to see the rest of the chess board.
