that's A LOT of speculation and much more work than simply just believing that his agent wants him to accept the role offered him, like he said. at this point, nobody believes russ is getting another big contract except russ.

again, the agent's motivation sounds like preservation of the legacy moreso than increasing the future value of a contract. the break up sounds personal, tbh. and i'm sure there's stuff we don't know beyond disputes over role or whatever.

so glad the oracle has spoken. again, may not be to us because indy hates us, but hield has negative value in trade, and turner's been on the block for two years now. guessing that you would have said brogdon wasn't moving for trash and a late first, too.

it would be for turner, not hield. i wouldn't give a 1st for hield. i said indy would ASK for a 1st to take russ for hield and eat his salary. and they would. especially from us.

you're asking for a lot of things to go in exact opposite patterns to those established over the past couple of years. there are a few teams that will return near entire rosters that have contended for a title next year, most with younger, more reliable stars. kyrie's a puncher's chance at best.

a lot of my stance on this rests on the fact that i don't think lebron's an mvp-level player anymore, and certainly not for the amount of games it would require given such a thin roster.

no clue at all what the bolded means. i'm saying that "title or bust" is just something people say to be on brand or build one.

again, you're telling me your experience of last season was the same as your experience as the season before? or that the year we lost in the finals to the C Bags was the same as the year we missed the playoffs after the shaq trade? that's ridiculous and weird, imo.

why watch the games other than the nba finals then? seriously. why watch any other game, ever, if all that matters is whether you get a ring? just watch the parade i guess.

that's like saying that i don't have a ferrari is evidence that i don't want one. pretty sure sources close to the front office listed wings as targets in both trade and FA for the past two years. they haven't been available for what we've had to offer and still won't be.

unless we could get one as part of a russ deal.

played more games last year than kyrie has played since he left cleveland.

    last 4 years, games played:

    conley: 70, 47, 51, 72
    kyrie: 67, 20, 54, 29

he is old, but i wonder if saving us from being the third consecutive team burned by trying to build around kyrie is a bad thing.

I would take Conley and another player like Beasley as a Plan B over Hield and Turner.
I’ve never been high on Buddy because he’s a one trick pony and overpaid for what he brings. I think Rob is high every time he tries to trade for him. We have enough injury prone players and I’m pretty sure it would take both firsts, plus someone they would really want back like Austin, to get Turner and Buddy.

i'd rather roll the dice and gamble on kyrie. risky of course, but it's worth it for someone of kyrie's caliber

Conley and Beasley is definitely an upgrade IMO particularly if we can make the trade without giving up picks.

    He's speculating:

We send out Westbrook / Gabriel / 1 FRP

We receive: Conley, Fournier, Clarkson, and maybe Reddish

    Sign me up!

We would instantly resolve issues with PG, SG and SF, and still have THT & Nunn to develop or move if another opportunity presents itself. Also, with medium pieces like all four of those incoming players we would have significant flexibility at the trade deadline.

I don't think any team in the League is going to cough up 2 first round picks for Turner and Hield. That's a rather ridiculous asking price. I guess if the Knicks thing have any legs. I like Clarkston and Gay. Not for Westbrook but THT and Gabriel.
We have a 2.75 TPE that can absorb some money. That should net Jordan
Id rather keep Nunn too. Gay? Idk maybe he gets bought out .

Not too big on Conley or Fournier. I want Kyrie and Curry for Russ.

Yeah. I'd pull the trigger on that especially if we could get Cam.

Conley was freakin horrible in the last playoffs, just seeing the stats here he went from shooting 40% from 3 in reg season to shooting 20% from 3 over 6 games, and averaging 9ppg.

Definitely not at 24million for the next two seasons. I'd rather take Dennis back at the vet min.

I've always liked Conley but I think he's about done. I'd also rather have Dennis on a minimum.
