I have similar concerns with him, BUT, to be fair, he’s never played next to LeBron and AD, and the one Finals he did play in I remember him being really damn good. I remember Harden crapping the bed, Durant being pretty good too, but Russ giving every hint he had. That’s one thing he will do, play all out at all times.

yeah, it's a concern. though his advanced stats still aren't bad.

i think there are better paths and fits, but i see why they'd pursue this one.

I'm not a fan of the Westbrook move.

    Don't like the fit.

The person that makes the most sense is Hield.

    I get that move.

Everything else I've heard doesn't excite me.

Maybe, but then again Russ has never played with Lebron and AD. He is almost impossible to guard straight up, and playing with those two is going to put him in that situation a lot. Russ is one of those few guys that can still blow by you to the rim, even if you give him space and try to goad him into shooting jumpers. I agree with Magic, folks try to discredit those triple doubles like anybody can do it. That is NOT the case at all.

i dont think anyone can just drop triple dubs like russ, however I dont think its as impactful as one would think whe you see those stats, his asst #s comes because he hunts them, not necessarily creating easier score or creating open looks for guys and its been said he will be out of position on D to hunt Rebs

This..and if he could influence Tucker to develop the same type of drive and aggressiveness he plays with? That is worth the gamble too.

Buddy is a shooter no doubt. His history has shown that he can get hot and knock em down. He can also go cold and brick em all too.

12 assists and 12 rebounds are elite though, guys can go out and hunt those numbers and still can't duplicate them. He is just a unique player, it would be fascinating to watch him Lebron and AD on the court together. I have to admit that it's Lebron's gift, for bringing out the best in guys for the best of the team, that makes me believe that it would work. James is a natural facilitator, giving him another matchup problem to go to, makes him even more dangerous.

    Latest on Dame from Abbott

AD is pretty mobile and athletic... just saying.

The major issue with Dame is that he is under contract for 4 more years. He doesn't have the leverage to dictate where he goes. He can force his way out, but Portland doesn’t have to send him wherever he wants to go either. They can take the best deal for them, not him. In a perfect world the deal would work out best for both, I'd like to see his preferred destinations.

That seems like a lot of $

So either they're losing the farm or they're chasing DD? That's one hell of a swing to prepare for based on what their stars do. And I wonder if he'll go lower than $20m for the hometown discount for us. If he's truly about winning, like he said in the interview, he'll have to cut that in half... then we can work with him.

That's unfortunate. If our bigs bolted (who knows at this point) , I was hoping he'd consider returning here.

i've lost some respect for lillard at this point. after all the s*** he's talked about guys demanding out and him wanting to build his own, this is a really lame look for me.

it would be different had he not been so vocal about not doing this for so long.

he might pulling the durant heel-turn here.

In fairness I saw a story on him, saying that he lost an insane amount of friends and relative this year. I'm talking like 30 or so people. He said that it changed his whole perspective on a lot of things in his life. He seemed genuine on the subject when he said to take nothing in life for granted.

I think people are thinking traded player exceptions and disabled player exceptions. Pretty sure those cannot be combined in deals.

from that video it seems like sign and trades are ok.

After the “playing with a mobile/athletic big man” quote, the thought that came to mine is New Orleans would actually be a really good landing spot for Lillard.

Pelicans can do a sign and trade Lonzo/Jaxon Hayes/bunch of draft picks for Lillard.

A core of Lillard/Zion/Ingram/Valencunias would have my attention.

if lillard can be had for literally half of what we gave up for AD (who could opt out and walk to us the next year), i may jump off a bridge.

NO is thinking of possibly just letting lonzo walk rather than pay him 20 per. i don't see how portland would consider this a win in any way.

for it to be illegal, it would have had to change from the previous cba, and i feel like it would have been better publicized.

moving the s&t to at least one fully guaranteed year was the big game changer for these kind of s&ts, imo. and that--not that you can't do them--is why they don't happen.

back then, you were seeing guys get MORE money for that year to be a throw-in on an S&T, then reaping the cash on the open market to boot.

i need to look into whatever hijinks morey tried to get up to with nene--i feel like it was along these lines but not exactly the same, and the league stepped in and called it circumvention.

The Hield trade in a vacuum: obviously, they are prioritizing shooting, but they better have a plan for another wing.

They go into this losing Kuz without replacing his size on the wing, it is a bad deal.

    But we will see.
