Yikes Toronto might be too afraid of Durant's cry out for a trade. I don't see KD being happy in the great white north

Seems like Pelinka is trying to see if he can insert LAL/Irving into the KD deal to move things along faster, but no meaningful progress made. Long shot at this point.

Unfortunately, the two teams with cap space are not our friends, lol.

What unfortunate timing of we wanted to include a multi-team deal.

The holdup from most circles inside LA seems to be the unwillingness of forfeiting yet another 1st round pick AND taking on more salary (cap charge), one or the other would probably be more amendable but not both.

Lakers currently have over $163 million on the books with a $32 million plus luxury tax bill....

I mean seriously, it would be a shocker if Kyrie doesn’t up in LA. It's just a matter of how soon and the exact details.

Reportedly Brooklyn wants a third team because they don’t want Westbrook (nor would I). For the Lakers to overcome that they will need to sweeten the pot.

The best leverage for the Nets in a KD deal would be if they have the option to act as if they won’t trade KD. That they’re confident that when push comes to shove, KD will report to camp and they have a good enough roster to still compete, which will eventually calm down KD enough to play out his contract. Basically how we handled the Kobe trade demand.

But if the Nets were to trade Kyrie first, especially in a trade that would swap Kyrie (one of KD’s best friends) for Russ (someone who KD clearly did not like playing with), that would be committing the Nets to blowing up the team and shipping out KD. Definitely would lessen their leverage in KD trade negotiations.

Very well may be truth to the idea that the Lakers and Nets have a high level agreement on the framework of some Kyrie trade packages, but Pelinka and Marks have agreed to hold off on finalizing the Kyrie trade until the KD situation is resolved. Maybe even fold the two trades into one. Might be why Pelinka is in the loop with Masai from the Raptors.

The League is already planning to get the Lakers on as many national TV games as possible. Meanwhile Stephen A, Skip Bayless, Charles Barkley and Collin Cowherd, are diligently preparing their narratives, to complain about how the League is allowing this outrageous act of manipulation by Lebron and Kyrie, to try and steal a chip. " Lebron needs all this help". " The League is trying to prop up the Lakers ". " If they win a title, it's going to be tainted " blah, blah, blah.

Man, I hope I hear that. When we hear that, the Lakers are normally pretty good and competing for a chip.

    I love salty Laker haters...

I see. So, Marks is trying to pretend that everyone else who’s paying close attention to what’s going on, really isn’t.

Same. The whining about us in the media is usually a good sign.
