I’m glad that Rob is continuing to work on the roster and possibly move Russ. The Irving trade is of course still the priority because it makes us viable contenders (with the addition of at least one three point sniper). I like the Hield Turner plan B although Indy is going to be tough to work with just like the Nets.

Yeah either team is going to insist on at least one pick if not both. I don’t care much about the picks with either of those scenarios but it’s all a negotiation chess match. I agree with most that Kyrie probably won’t get traded before KD.

It's all about "what have you done for me lately" and as sharpshooting had become such a premium in the league some players have improved and some have worsened.

2nd half of each of Buddy and Kyrie's careers from 3:
Buddy 37.7 (past 5 years, a decrease of 4.1% over the first 5 years)
Kyrie 40.8 (past 6 years an increase of 3.4% over the first 5 years)

2nd half of each of Buddy and Kyrie's careers from 2:
Buddy 48.8 (past 5 years, a decrease of 1.1% over the first 5 years)
Kyrie 52.8% (past 6 years) an increase of 5.3% over the first 5 years)

Essentially Buddy started shooting more but making less wise shot choices and missing more.
Kyrie likewise shot more, 3+ more attempts but made even better decisions.
Kyrie averages a lot more assists and steals, just a far more impactful player. 40/50/90 club. Only 2 others in it in the past 7 years, Steph Curry and (believe it or not), Malcolm Brogdan. That kind of efficiency is a far cry from what we are getting from Westbrooks' 20/40/60 club statline.

So the reports are that the Lakers haven’t made any of the picks available in trade for Kyrie yet, and by the sounds of it… if they did, it would be a done deal (more or less).

I actually think it’s a reasonable trade for both sides if it’s just 1 pick we are haggling over. I think everyone expects us to give it up, and Rob is trying to prevent that from happening.

So to me the deal sounds like it’d be Westbrook/THT for Kyrie/Harris. Nets want the pick to seal the deal, Lakers are saying no because we are doing them a favour by taking on the Harris contract.

From what I have read, BRK wants nothing to do with Westbrook and a 3rd team needs to be found with acceptable pieces for BRK.

Money works for us though, we drop 2.2 mil in salary which equals 10 million after tax penalty.

EDIT: I see from Stein reports that maybe they will take Westbrook if our picks are involved.

Thanks for sharing these reports! This confirms my previous posts about the 3rd team/FRP situation as well as BKN's higher priority being Durant.

If I had to sum it up: Irving wants this done, LeBron wants this done, LAL wants this done. Question remains, how badly does BKN want it done??

If I were a betting man, I'd say pretty badly! Just have to wait!!!

I don’t completely understand why Durant has to be moved first. Are they thinking Harris might be attached to KD?

If BKN is only requiring one first-rounder, @#$%ing do it already.

Hopefully he's there to help Marks get the deal done. He is part of the GM trio there according to his exit interview after the season.

This is how that conversation went in my head:

    3 team trade, Lakers/Nets/Raptors
    Lakers get Kyrie, Harris
    Raptors get Durant
Nets get Westbrook, Siakam, Anunoby, Lakers protected 27 pick, multiple picks from Raptors

All 3 agree to give Woj the scoop when the deal is official
