Bledsoe's pretty mediocre at this point. Caruso is much better. Not sure how this effects us. The only way I see this "helping" us is if we are able to pick up Bledsoe for the minimum which frees up Caruso and THT to be used in sign and trades. And yes, I put helping in quotes because I think I'd rather have Caruso and THT than Westbrook and Bledsoe.

He's not, BUT I think teams see CP3, Conley, and Lowry (in that descending order) as culture changing, team altering floor generals. Utah sat atop of the Western Conference and the Suns were in the finals. I think those three can write their own ticket this summer.

Really quick, I don't have a new update. The latest info I have through the grapevine hasn't changed from the below:

Ignore the media articles planted by opposing teams to use the Lakers as leverage. The team deeply understands the nuanced situation we have at the point guard spot. Have faith in the FO. LeBron and AD are being actively consulted on any decisions as well. They will come through!!!

He would be a 3rd option. Much less pressure.

oh, the wily vet pg is definitely a thing. but you have to value it appropriately. lowry's not turning NO from 10th place to finalist in one year like paul did. hell, paul only did that because AD and kawhi were injured.

i do get that NO needs to make the playoffs. desperately. but three guaranteed years to lowry at the price he wants could tank them worse than riding out next year with bledsoe and adams and dealing them in their last years for an upgrade.

i just think it's dangerous to follow the hottest trend in this way.

I think NO are desperate to start winning out of fear they will lose Zion like they lost AD.

Let’s play out the Westbrook for Kuz/KCP/Opt-in Montrez Harrell/THT scenerio.

That would leave the Lakers with the #22 pick (let’s say Chris Duarte) and vet minimum signings to fill out the roster. Let’s assume we re-sign Caruso too.

    Vet minimum signings:
    - Markieff Morris
    - Avery Bradley
    - Dwight Howard
    - Bledsoe if he gets bought out lol
    - Carmelo Anthony
    - Danny Green (fingers crossed we can get him for the minimum lol)
    -Otto Porter Jr.
    - Willie Callie Stein

    Depth Chart becomes:
    Westbrook/Caruso/Bledsoe
    Green/Bradley/Duarte
    Lebron/Carmelo/Porter
    AD/Morris
    Gasol/Howard/Caulie-Stein

The team would be hella old but could win a championship similar to the hella old Spurs of 2014, where AD plays the Kawhi next face of franchise role (lol) and Lebron plays the old man Tim Duncan role.

i think that while the principals of a westbrook deal make sense, the timing is hard.

for us, the ideal is trez/kuz/schroder S&T, and failing that kcp/kuz/trez alone could probably get it done (maybe another minimum depending on how trade kickers work).

but you're asking trez or schroder or both to hold of on FA plans until we know what beal's doing. sounds like that won't be until after the draft, which means picks can't really be involved either way unless teams like them after the fact.

i don't know; i'm sure rob's more creative than i am about this.

Sure, but you know the Cap much better than he does.

I don’t remember where I read it but Beal supposedly knows he has to make a decision before the draft.

    From the same piece...

    Toronto trying to chase Simmons
Morey isn’t going to get that kind of deal. Not going to get a team's best player AND a top 5 pick. One or the other. Needs to lower his ask.

It better be one of these two propositions. I'm not interested in Westbrook if it means THT. We are helping Washington get out from a toxic contract. Are other teams lining up to pay Westbrook 44 million then 47 million? KCP, Kuzma, Trez and our first rounder seems fair. Our best prospect for a toxic contract that only works for us because we happen to have a Lebron? Yeah, no.

CP3 update coming out of Phoenix

    And Spears on DD
If he really is prioritizing winning, it's an LA team based on that list.

And seriously, do the Clippers have one single f***ing original idea? Any player who has played for us or mentioned they'd like to, they jump in and involve themselves. They have no shame or self respect as an organization.

    Consider me a CP3 hater.

I want no part of him on the Lakers. I think he is over rated. He wouldn't fit well with Lebron on the team. He will be to small on switches on defense, he always get injured. I rather roll with WB over Paul

No, no they don’t. They offer players contracts from across the hall once they’ve become free agents from us. The only time I can remember us doing the same is Trez. Hell they even picked up Wes Johnson (and Jordan Farmar, Matt Barnes to name some not so bad cases), zero shame.

there's been plenty of former clippers who became lakers later in their careers, but it does seem like the clippers do have a penchant for signing guys right after they leave the lakers

before harrell, the last guy i can recall who went straight from the clippers to the lakers was radmanovic

this isn't relevant to us, but i hadn't seen anyone comment on it:

i mean, he's not wrong. really weird that their gm tried to sell all problems as stotts' fault. i thought he got more from that team than he should have for the greater part of his tenure there. anyway, dame's not buying it, either.
