Owners need to start taking control of their teams again. I understand the players are the most important part but when players like Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson and Kobe Bryant were at crossroads with management it was geared towards winning, not wanting to control the franchise and making sure all their buddies got spots and b******* in the organization.

I commend the Nets management for doing what they are doing. And I hope Jeanie can do the same.

I still don't see a scenario where Kyrie is dealt before Durant. Durant deal has to happen first.

I think we have to be careful with Harris instead of just looking @ his stats.

I mean: 2 surgeries to the same ankle? I would really like to get an orthopedic's opinion; I might do some research on it.

He already isn't a high flyer, and this has to effect his mobility at least to a degree, right? Idk. I'm just skeptical. A dude owed over $30 million dollars over two seasons with a major injury has be concerned.

I’m honestly getting tired of this, always trying to be taken for everything we have in trades. I wonder if we can just move on to Indy and/or Charlotte. Maybe those deals won’t require both picks.

It's 2022. Are picks in 2027 and 2029 really relevant at this point?

I think the Gasol trade still pisses people off.

That was made up from when that piece of s*** midget vetoed the CP3 deal, costing Kobe title 6 and maybe 7.

Agreed. But the teams still don't see it that way.

I meant what is the value in Kyrie sitting home (because he doesn't want to report over not being traded to us) vs Nets adding 10m extra salary in Westbrook just to appease Kyrie? That seems like a terrible trade for the Nets and the obvious reasoning they'd want draft picks and salary relief.

I still do believe we misused Russ last year and he has worth as a player, no where near to his 47m contract obviously, but I don't think I've ever argued Westbrook is a star and is worth 47m. I always argued that getting more from him and resting Lebron more could be beneficial for both. I've also argued letting Westbrook expire was better than some of the trade packages we were rumoured in.

Yes this trade isn't an obvious home run. It can be argued that letting Westbrook expire could be a better long term outcome, and it can be argued even easier that turning Westbrook into multiple productive players is the best course of action.

I think the big sticking point for us is we don't want to send both picks and we don't want to take on too much salary because we can't afford the luxury tax. I imagine the nets want both. We could do it, but it is an overpay and directly hurts our owner's small pockets. I'm not the owner, so as a fan I want them to take Kyrie, Harris and Curry for Westbrook + 1st. Then I want to turn around and deal Nunn + THT + 1st for even more salary and a productive wing.

+ this last surgery, occurred after the first surgery failed to heal him up..that's scary. Not getting down on Joe, prior to last season he was solid for 4 seasons but it's a big risk factor at this level, BRK has to understand, we are playing for the chip. There is a line we can't cross.

And yes, certainly even after an ideal situation of good healing, his ankle is going to be locked up compared to how it was. He won't be chasing people around like he barely could before.

Nets won't be adding 10 million in salary. Any trade with them they are going to WANT us to take Harris back or succumb to Curry....not to mention if the deal is somewhat favorable to us we would ask (and he would to be getting to come to LA) Irving to waive his trade kicker. All in all the Nets will save 5-15 million likely in the trade and can also likely save 5-10 more if they choose to buyout Westbrook.

I see no scenario where the Nets will be taking on more payroll with Westbrook.

    I totally agree with you.

It's just a long standing conversation between Abeer and I. He thought he caught me admitting that Westbrook has no value, I was just saying a straight Kyrie for Westbrook swap has no value for the nets. We'd have to take on a bad contract and give some picks up.

Alas, I have picked the Westbrook will have a bounce back next season hill to die on...

Kyrie is scary good or scary bad (mentally). Lakers should go for him, because Westbrick gave the Lakers no choice with his attitude and bricks he put up last season.

The Myles Turner + Buddy Hield for Russ works in the trade machine.

I’d start looking at other trades we are interested at this point. The Nets have zero leverage. We are the only team that is interested in Kyrie and they know it. It’s a total bluff that they think that Kyrie will play for them at this point. I don’t want to be the team that offers Kyrie a new 4 year contract. He’s injury prone and can take some of his nutty ideas and walk right off his flat earth.
