Because it's probably private and personal for her that she only discusses with close family/friends.

idk. i'm reading that jeanie tweet as a shot at lebron for wanting to bring in kyrie while jeanie would prefer to stick with what we currently have? maybe that's just me

it's 100% directed at lebron though

…. you think that as opposed to basketball related can’t talk about? Would make sense but she had to have known it would be taken so many ways for BB implications.

It could be something basketball related or a combination of both something personal and basketball related.

Jeanie has done and said things in the last out of emotion. She probably tweeted this while a little inebriated and going through memories about Kobe.

Or it could be after Rob gave her LBJ's latest demands and she started thinking about Kobe thereafter...

I'm just guessing like we all are, but I wouldn't read that much into it.

I don’t like this tweet. It’s way too emotional for my taste, and - frankly - it’s also false. False in the sense that Kobe was actually a bad “GM”, like most players. He understood team over self in such a way that he played a major role in getting Shaq out of town instead of trying to smooth it out and win two more championships for the team together. Then, being left with a crappy team, requested a trade to the Bulls or the Clippers IIRC (“do something and do it now”). Eventually coming up with this amazing idea to trade Bynum for old Jason Kidd etc.

What Jeanie should do is stop running this team like a mom & pop business, troubled with nepotism, and hire a competent FO — people who actually know few things about basketball. If you can’t do it, please sell the team; I am sure there’s plenty of rich people who love basketball and would be willing to invest resources properly.

Speaking of Kyrie — yes, he’s a headcase and a toxic player. Basketball-wise, he’s a perfect fit for this team with his ballhandling, shooting ability, consistency as a scorer and the “minimize turnovers” approach. Basically, he’s everything that Westbrook is not (except being a defender, where both are weak). And if it doesn’t work out, at least we tried to fix the mistake, Kyrie’s contract expires, and we still got better by getting rid of Russ who is a net negative when he plays.

Kobe spent two decades with us and got us 5 rings.

Now divide by 5 and you get James (4 and 1)

I think it is all money really, and not so much Irving or over Westbrook, I think they are willing to do that- but specifically the Joe Harris financials of it.

No doubt the Nets are going to want us to take him back in the deal- hell, perhaps more than the value of two draft picks that are forever away.

I also wonder if LeBron/Clutch/Whomever is insisting on us not trading THT. I find that unlikely when Pelinka himself said we were getting shooting with trades. It doesn't take a genius to realize what we have to offer and the TE and 2 2nd rounder for next year can only get you so much. It has to be trading THT and Nunn, and the later is coming off back-to-back seasons (prior to missing last year) of 2+ makes and 36% (last year he played was actually 2.2/38%), so wouldn't you want to keep that???

Also as great as adding Irving/Harris would be as far as fixing our shooting- we are still badly undersized on the perimeter and need minimum 1-2 wings IMO.

And then of course you have LeBron turning 38 in December, AD having missed literally 2 of the last 4 seasons in games, Kyrie's antics and somehow all that no longer/or being an issue...

    I too would be concerned....

I'll be honest with you guys: I keep looking @ Buddy Hield highlights thinking he's the one that's going to end up here.

With what’s taken place so far, counter to actual science, I wouldn’t be surprised if they make players wear masks, gloves, shower caps, and plastic wrap to cover any other exposed skin. Insanity reigns!

If you look at Jeanie's likes it seems she's reminiscing but still very odd timing. Maybe she was drinking lol

    Yes!
Jeanie truly loves the Lakers, but her “loyalty” and only putting her trust in those who have had past ties with the organization is going to be her downfall. This is the only real problem I have with her and the biggest difference between Jeanie and the Great Dr.
I know if Jerry were around, he would in no way be strong armed by Klutch or LeBron.
