That's what they're asking for: a straight 1 for 1 swap, the 27 & 29 picks and getting off of the Joe Harris long-term money.

If we did that deal tomorrow, Kyrie would be a Laker, but that is asking way too much for a distressed asset. Way too much.

Russ by himself can bring back up to $59 million dollars. No problem taking on Joe's contract. I would part with ONE of the 27 & 29 picks but protect it.

Essentially, Russ + 27 pick for Kyrie/Harris. I could be talked into including THT/Nunn, but that's the best I can offer.

Why not? Rob doesn’t think he’s that much of an upgrade over Westbrick? Negotiating tactics, I guess.

Yeah, I’m with you. As for THT and Nunn, I believe that the reports saying the Nets don’t want to add any additional salary are true.

He couldn’t be any worse on D than Melo. I’m done with all of the washed players who used to be something.

    That's good stuff.

    And that matters to Jeanie.

And they'd also be a repeat offender...

Okay, Jeanie isn’t as cheap as we have made her out to be. $45 MILLION is no small amount to turn our noses up at.

So listening to some of the radio talking heads this weekend, there’s definitely the theme of this trade “helping bail out the Lakers.” I suspect we will have to throw something in there to help any trade partner save face a bit.

Any other team you could probably do a 1 for 1 swap. I like that the front office is negotiating but I think Rob will have to compromise at least a little bit. I don’t want them to
Give away more than necessary but I am bracing for it.

Yup, I already said it would be a difference of about 40 million.

In the tax this much every million is x4

Why must Rob compromise? Kyrie's camp has already sent out clear messages that he will re-sign only with the Lakers and this is Kyrie Irving we are talking about. He will do what he says he will. He's not normal. There are no other teams vying for him, Philly and Dallas have been exposed as complete smoke created by BRK FO. No truth to it whatsoever.

Let's hope Rob shows some balls this time and doesn't sell the farm.

    1. the more time passes, the more likely another team may decide to take a punt on Kyrie
    2. BRK may trade KD for another star and decide to let Kyrie play out his contract in BRK if they think they can contend with Kyrie.
    3. BRK may just bench him to send a message if the Lakers package doesn't move the needle for them.

all these seem unlikely scenarios right now but you never know, and things change quickly.

    • The more time that passes won't change Kyrie's mind to only re-sign here.
    • Obviously, Brooklyn can not contend with an unwilling Kyrie, Ben Simmons, and with whoever else they add in the trade (Jimmy Butler or Bam, Mikal Bridges and fodder etc) Kyrie may come up with a reason not to play at all for them. They are done with him.
    • BRK can bench him, you think that is punishment to KI? it plays right into Kyrie's world.
Kyrie is not a normal "product" money will not deter him. Brooklyn is scared sh*tl**s of him. To Joe Tsai, Kyrie is the author of all their woes. He wants him gone.

    Jeanie just tweeted this…

If they fumbled the trade, I will literally be miserable.

Seems this is her way of saying she's being pressured by Lebron and co. to give up the picks for Kyrie and doesn't want to do it because it will hurt the team long term.

and while I understand that, if she doesn't do the trade, she might as well just blow up the roster and trade everyone except maybe AD, because this roster isn't going anywhere.

I wasn't going to reply to Jeanie's tweet, but since she said "all can reply", well, I may feel it's my duty.

    :Jeanie Srsly:

No, just thought it was an odd thing to put in a tweet. A moment of vulnerability, and her sharing her heart with fans, and how much she valued having Kobe Bryant around. It's what make people like her. She's not perfect, but she's real.

There will never be another one like Kobe. There may never be another owner like Jeanie.
