Figured that was a given when they traded Gobert for picks. They're in blow it up mode and are going to duke it out with the Spurs and Rockets next season trying to get the #1 pick for Wembanyama.

Funny enough they can't trade for Bam or 15 other guys they'd want. Simmons limits their options thanks to the Designated Rookie Extension rule. You can’t have two players acquired in a trade who were signed to that type of extension.

If KD is moved, pretty sure he's joining CP and Booker. They have all their picks and a couple solid young players a third team would want that can get the Nets more picks or whatever else they want.

I get the point, I just don’t agree to that extent that it’s like adding two superstars. I think Kyrie is clearly a better fit than Westbrook, I just hope he straightens himself out a bit for a year or two.

Not keen on long term Kyrie though.

Kyrie is not a top 5 or a top 10 talent in the NBA.

Off the top of my head:

    Jokic
    Luka
    Giannis
    AD
    Lebron
    Embiid
    Harden
    Durant
    Steph
    Kawhi
    PG
    Lillard
    CP3
    Booker
    Tatum
    Butler
    Trae
    Morant

Then you can argue Siakam, Middleton, Mitchell, KAT, Antman, Beal, Derozan, Lavine, Zion, Ingram, Simmons, Brown etc

Irving is a top 30 player and on his day he is top 15-20. But without Lebron he hasn’t done anything.

I could see him being traded obviously, but if the Lakers do not see any issues with his medicals bringing Nunn back could be very beneficial. He is a real nice player to have.

Hmm, I'd say Kyrie is around 10-15. (Harden is not top 10 anymore btw)
His scoring ability alone puts him firmly in the George/Lillard/Booker 2nd-tier superstar category of players.
And out of your top 10, only Steph and is a better fit for the Lakers.

    Jokic
    Luka
    Giannis
    AD
    Lebron
    Embiid
    Harden
    Durant
    Steph
    Kawhi

    ------------> Kyrie

    PG
    Lillard
    CP3
    Booker
    Tatum
    Butler
    Trae
    Morant

No, but he’d be a top 5 or top 10 2nd/3rd option like he was in CLE.

I maintain he's Top5/10 natural talent wise. Just because his head isn't right doesn't mean he's not much more talented than most of the guys in that list.

dude came out of semi-retirement last year shooting 42% from 3 mostly off the dribble, has the best handles and ball skills I've ever seen, etc.

if we get AD/Bron/Kyrie focused on basketball, it'll be the best trio the league has ever seen. I know they said the same in Brooklyn, but Durant is a piss poor leader compared to Bron, and there were apparently tons of off court issues with the FO as well.

GS losing a lot of their depth. Their kids will likely take a step forward, but they've been mighty quiet. They have to have a plan to restock the cabinet.

Feel like GS will have no problems replacing most of the talent they lost.

No doubt he is a good fit. I just find it hard to rate Kyrie above Booker, CP3 and Lillard. What exactly makes him better than them? Butler I think has shown throughout his career he is a better player, these last playoffs is a great example. PG is a two way player and would be a better fit in my opinion. And then I think all the young guys are catching up quick if they aren’t better already in Antman, Trae, Morant and Tatum.

If Kyrie was so good, there would be teams lining up to get him, but they aren’t. Because his whole career he hasn’t had results unless he was with Lebron.

But here he is a great third option.

Yes but in the playoffs his team got swept in 4 and he played worse than Westbrook did against us in the bubble. So let’s not overrate him either.

Teams lack of interest in Kyrie has nothing to do with a talent deficiency and everything to do with him being a textbook problem child.

Pure talent alone he is as good as anyone in the league on the offensive side of the court.

Kyrie is NBA Finals proven..Championship ring proven. He's above Dame, Booker, and all the rest of those guys IMO. Yes he is an eccentric little dude, but he is a basketball Picasso in his own right. The Lakers are actually the perfect place for him. He doesn't have to be a shadow GM, or even a team leader here. Lebron has that part covered, all he has to do is hoop. When he's on the court, he is rather exceptional at that. SMH..the media has a serious love hate relationship with our team. A lot of franchises envy us, they want to see us fall. Still that trophy room is a testament to the fact, that we go get that talent , and we put it to work to chase those rings. Sometimes we succeed, sometimes we fail, I love the fact that we are never afraid to go for it, when the opportunity presents itself. That is who the Lakers are.Jeanie Buss is most definitely her father's daughter. I salute her..go get er done Rob!! Go Lakers!!!
