Westbrook will single handily solve LA's homeless problem by building houses with all of his bricks.

I'm sort of in the pro Westbrook camp, but I have to admit, that was funny. But the homeless problem might be too much for Westbrook to overcome. The Clippers will need to pick up Simmons as well.

I don't think anyone really expected him to sign for our mid level. It's opt in trade or nada.

right? and this would have bearing on westbrook for us.

i'm told this doesn't matter, and we can be assured that nobody will be whining incessantly about it for the duration.

bobby marks is such an idiot, i'm sorry. i don't want paul nor do i think it's happening, but he literally just pulled the opt-in and trade thing to get into his current contract, folks. it was surprising that time because i don't think i'd ever seen it before, but now we have. with the same player. recently.

also, any trade for cp/russ needs a minimum of 36 going out. and folks wanting to move THT in the deal (not me) need to keep byc in mind. same with schroder.

would love both or either, but would need to be received S&T, so it's not happening, imo. or shouldn't happen.

awesome, but SA and TOR have to agree to those. and it hard caps us, so probably say goodbye to AC and THT?

It’s tough. I think there will definitely be whining.

But as you and few others have mentioned, I also just get the strong sense that Lebron is pushing for someone who can lighten his workload a bit. I’m slowly resigning myself to the thought that we will be bringing in one of these guys even if it means a hard cap.

yeah, again: i obviously can't argue against lebron himself in terms of what he thinks will work. i'm just using his entire career history as grounding for what does and doesn't work.

so, yes, clearly, we're big-game (really big-name) hunting. to me, kemba is the most realistic. you can't tell me okc sees value in having him there or he wants to be there.

and nobody's talking about wall, either, even though i think he's probably the most attainable/sensible, given each team's current needs and interests. houston doesn't want to win, has a young guard and is likely drafting another, and could certainly find a role for kuzma (wouldn't be surprised if he put up 20-25ppg there, tbh). they also had harrell and liked him (fans). just sayin'.

and to be clear: none of these are what i would do. but i'm a psych prof, not an nba gm.

@abeer3 the issue with getting Kemba is we're low on 1st rounders and if you don't have that, Presti loses interest.

I'm more worried about Wall's injury than any of the PGs. He looked almost back to form this year. But that's still a scary one.

Our limited picks would matter the least to the Suns and then probably the Raptors. Wiz would depend if they're in full rebuild at that point or if Beal is staying.

yeah, i thought about that with okc, but at some point, you need actual players. kuz might be a draw there, tbh.

i think wall would be the cheapest in terms of what we'd have to give up. might even get a pick our way.

his and kemba's injuries scare me. but paul's scare me as much or more. and westbrook's one more knee tweak away from being completely useless.

which is why i'd rather none of them at this point, as i've said. again, all the concerns about AD being fragile, and we want to add guys who are much more likely to miss big chunks of time, imo. and who make even more money! and aren't as good!

good points all around... not much else to say at this point... it's a bleak landscape this summer, and it appears as though we are willing to give one of these guys a shot... totally agree in that i would prefer none of them, but we seem to be on a collision course at the moment, so we'll see what pans out.

the rumor mill is ramping up big time, so i'll just sit back and let it all play out... hopefully these guys are rehabbing big time this summer in order to demonstrate that they are ready to carry the load when Lebron is on the bench... i want to see receipts from PT/cryo/physio sessions... whoever spends the most time fixing their body wins the golden ticket...
