I mean it worked out that way last year. He was a good balance for Garland and Sexton before injuries happened.

I'd also like Bryant, but given our current roster construction he might end up starting as a stretch 5.

Cranjis (whom I love) and you guys know that has been pretty negative on the roster specifically the shooting.

While I can see that, I'll post some positive stuff in a bit. Think we still need a trade, but I'm not as down on this roster.

He's a stretch 5. He shot in the high 30's from 3 in his first couple of season? Trended down last year when he came back from injury. Not great defensively, IIRC. Probably better to place him in more of a "helper" role.

I like Thomas Bryant for us, but I do wonder with him, AD, and Damien Jones are we a little too light/soft in the middle?

I also think it ultimately winds up being Irving and Harris- the only question that remains is the assets and for me one of our 2 second round picks and a single first would be fair compensation for both sides; particularly because Kyle wants only to come to LA (risking his antics by sending him anywhere else) and the Nets are taking on someone they would rather not have in RW.

Thomas Bryant was also my choice to be the other big man we got, staying with our under-30 goals this season (he turns 25 later this month). I hope we can sign him...

Assuming that is where we wind up, then we will look like this:

    PF Anthony Davis
    SF LeBron James
    C Damian Jones
    SG Joe Harris
    PG Kyrie Irving

    G Lonnie Walker IV
    G Austin Reaves
    F Stanley Johnson
    F Juan Tascano-Anderson
    F Troy Brown Jr.
    F Wenyen Gabriel* (non-guaranteed)
    F Max Christie (R)
    C Thomas Bryant

    F Cole Swider (2-way)
    G Scottie Pippen Jr (2-way)

We would immediately have the shooting with the additions of Irving and Harris joining James, but the thing obviously missing is perimeter defense, and that is going to be hard to obtain with just dangling THT and Nunn; two guys almost assuredly needing to be moved now since we have way too many guards. As much as I would want to keep Nunn because of his outside shooting prowess, it is likely more feasible to get a wing player (which is hard enough as it is) with a package of him and THT than just Talen alone.

Since Gabriel's contract is non-guaranteed, and assuming we trade THT/Nunn for that wing guy- we would then be at 12 guaranteed, 13 total plus the two way players.

I would prepare for that scenario now, and add a couple more players for the minimum.

As much as I would love for TJ Warren or Otto Porter to come over for the minimum, I just don't see that happening, so we need to hope that we can in fact add a wing by trade...

Aaron Holiday would be a nice get (only 25) to replace Dunn and I might still let Carmelo be the lone guy we bring back since he can still provide shooting off the bench and then I would look for one more big FA (PF)...and there should be some of those still out there...

    PF Anthony Davis/Carmelo Anthony/UFA
    SF LeBron James/TRADE/Stanley Johnson
    C Damian Jones/Thomas Bryant
SG Joe Harris/Austin Reaves/Lonnie Walker IV
    PG Kyrie Irving/Aaron Holiday

Others: Juan Tascao-Anderson, Troy Brown Jr, Max Christie and Wenyen Gabriel

Depending on who that wing we trade for is, assuming we can net Irving/Harris or Irving/Curry......offseason would be a surprising success...

Also, I havent seen Serge Ibaka's play last year...is he washed up?

Surely, he would be better than Blake freaking Griffin....

Kind of cool. Maybe they can bring some of that chemistry that Monk and Reaves had together.

Not only washed but they have that dingy, plastic, duckbutter, tiny scent of fresh carcus that your clothes smell like when you accidently leave them in the washer, wet, by accident for 3 days.

Well, maybe THT+ second rounder will get us that "other player" and we come away with the Irving trade without parting with Nunn.

I worry about the knee, but his 2.2 makes and 38% outside shooting in 2020-21 makes me kind of wanting him to stay....

Difficult to focus on PG when you still have so many on the roster (RW, THT, Nunn), have James and you are trying to net Irving lol
